Maeva's pelt resembles a dying fire; deep black that glowed red in places, and a sprinkling of ash on her back. She knows this, and her pride in her beauty and skill often make her insufferable to the other females. She loves to parade herself in front of the king, stretching and showing all of her supple length beneath that lustrous pelt, and of course the king counts her as one of his favorite females. She hunts with the Queen, but thankfully Kitona is able to keep the vain young lioness in line with the other huntresses, and often Maeva herself is the one bringing down prey by the throat. The other females only wish that Kitona could do the same at home, where Maeva sits grooming herself and telling the crows how beautiful she is.
