Huntress Leona looked desperately into a shallow pool of water, tracing the lines on her once beautiful face with her claws. She thought long about her Legacy in The Pride, Her children had left The Pride long ago to search for lives of their own, Roest had been generous to them. Leona had stayed to continue to serve her pride, raising young and offering her wisdom to future hunters of The Pride. She had worked along side the most skilled and wise lions. She smiled to herself, knowing soon she would be reunited with her peers, she longed to see their faces and run into the wild with them.
Vision padded over to Leona, and sat next to her. Vision wrapped her tail around Leona's back and stared into the pool with her. Leona smiled sweetly and Vision leaned into her. She seemed to know exactly what Leona was feelings.
"It's beautiful there Leona, you'll love it. Valina and Voltage are excited to see you again," She purred,"You will run free like a young lioness again."
Leona felt calm in Vision's presence, her warm scent tickled her nose,"Vision? Is that you?" Her voice cracked, a smile lit up her old worn face,"How'd you get away? You look so young!"
Vision brushed Leona's cheek with her nose,"I didn't, I'm here by the grace of the Ancestors, i will join you again some day,"she said softly,"Would you like to stay here in the valley? I can grant you a place here."
"I want to see my children Vision, i haven't seen their faces in so long,"Leona said in a low voice,"I dont want to abandon this pride, i'd be honored to join your ranks"
"Ill talk to Tonto about bringing you there before you pass, Cargon would love to see you as well." She smiled, she perked up her ears and gleefully changed the subject,"Do you remember when we were cubs & Valina tried to take down a wildebeest all on her own? That day we learned how far a cub can be thrown."
Leona chuckled, a cub-like light sparkled in her eyes,"Yes, yes i do. We were all going to be the best hunters in the land!"
They spent the rest of the day sharing stories from their cub-hood, Leona felt much better about the future, and was grateful that she wouldn't have to go through it alone.
