The Lead Huntress line continues!
Amnis' last litter proved fruitful - one very large, red cub from a Primal father. The cub is rather brutal and cruel, and Amni is slightly worried but hopes she can channel it into something useful before she passes.
Igazi does look up to her mother and is rather blinkered when it comes to hunting - but, she proves excellent at it. Her bloodlust may come in useful yet, but the other lionesses worry what effect such a ruthless lead huntress will have on the hunting parties.
She is learning to curb her temper when it comes to the other lionesses and cubs. But she is still one to steer clear of if you want an easy day!
Igazis' bloodlust doesn't waver as she gets older, but with the careful training from her mother she proves to be a good huntress; however, not very popular with the other lionesses, some of who fear her, some of who respect her, and others who just do not like her. She has certainly made an impact on the pride. She doesn't get on with the animal loving Idlozi especially and reserves a special dislike for her.
As her mother ages well into her 15th year, Igazi doesn't worry over it, and takes on all her advice and strategies, lapping them up eagerly. Amni is the only lioness she respects but at the suggestion that she should pick a second, she growls and scoffs.
"Who needs that? I am good enough on my own! Tactics, strategies, strength, that is all you need and I have it all!" Amni sighs and tells her daughter that it will become too much for one lioness, "...you also need to keep the lionesses happy, that is why I had Sifihle..." but her daughter takes no heed. She is young and fit and abnormally strong, but perhaps one day the advice will be heeded, Amni hopes, watching her daughter at her work and being filled with both pride and worry.
Igazi was stunned to hear of her mother passing in the night, and she doesn't know how to deal with the news that the only lioness she has ever looked upto is not with her anymore. She growls and swipes at the messenger (poor Mnandi!) and at anyone who dares get in her way as she bolts towards the cave entrance. When she is a safe distance from the pride she lets out a guttural cry, almost a roar, so loud it could be mistaken for an invading male. She lets her bloodlust out on some poor unsuspecting crocodiles in the marsh (go large or go home!) and returns home to curl up around her mothers' buffalo skull, itself inherited from the grandmother she never met, but heard a lot about.
She is a young lioness still and although physically she is grown, she is emotionally immature and will not talk to anyone about it - and nobody volunteers to. Amandla, the queen, longs for someone for her to talk to. She is feeling her age now and admits she is scared of the young huntress. Kaidi, her son, volunteers but she shoos him away, not willing for the heir to the pride to get any more scars.
Nearing her twelfth year, the pride has to admit they would be hard pressed to find a better huntress than Igazi. The haughty lioness recently decided to find a mate - a tough call for her and any lion that takes her on! This proud huntress wouldn't take just any mate though - after many fights, bloodshed and scraps she settled on a blood red, bloodthirsty and very accomplished Primal male who gave her a few scars back to remember him by, and she smiles wickedly as she feels the one large cub growing in her belly.
Gosh she hates nesting and giving up valuable hunting time. This better be worth it, she growls to anyone who dares to listen. Hananne the midwife nods and smiles politely. Not many lionesses can hold a conversation with this brutal lioness and Igazi is somewhat taken aback. Of course she won't admit that she is grateful for the youngsters' company and advice leading up to the birth.
At a young age her beloved daughter proves ruthless and is also trained ruthlessly by her mother, who didn't want to waste her only breeding. Igazi feels a strange kind of affection for her daughter and will only leave her with Hananne when she is off all day hunting.
When she isn't hunting she tells tales to her little one of hunts and ancestors, and is the only lion in the pride she feels affection for. She would fight to the death for her daughter, and the fierce pride and bloodlust is passed down.
At the young age of 2 years and 2 moths, Igazi reluctantly hands her position to her accomplished daughter. She can't be shaken off too easily though, and still oversees the odd hunt or three.
"You were having some trouble getting into a carcass with a tough hide, so you invited Igazi, Lead Huntress to share with you. Sure enough, she proudly tore the decaying beast to shreds. You wonder if her claws are permanently bloodstained."
"You greet Igazi, Lead Huntress. She roars at you. She clearly likes you a lot."
