though the legend of ithe's ancestor, nefertiti, is still remembered today, ithe is the child of a lowborn mother and was thus born a peasant herself. somewhere along the line, one of ithe's ancestors was disgraced and banished from the pride for not living up to the standard expected of the nefertiti line; and so, all records of ithe's ancestor were destroyed.

the pride believe that nefertiti's line died off with ithe's ancestor, but ithe knows the truth. the secret of the nefertiti line has been carried on throughout the generations; and ithe is the first descendant to rise to a rank befitting of their blood for decades. she became a queen through sheer determination, and she sits comfortably at the top of the foodchain with the rest of the queens. ithe and cait are quite close- cait sees a lot of herself in the younger lioness.
