Name means “jasper” in Swahili Yaspi and her litter-mate Cheche are daughters of Wenet and half-sisters of Kaburi and Mpole. They adore their brother Kaburi whom they believe is a hard working king doing everything in his power to keep the pride well fed and safe. Sure there may be rumors that he kills wandering cubs just to pick a fight with a female and he mates with almost every female he sees, but it's survival of the fittest in this harsh world. They dislike their sister Mpole whom they believe acts like a spoiled princess living a life of luxury while they and their mother work hard to find food. Yaspi keeps around a pied crow named Pai as a spy to search the land for food and news about neighboring prides.
