Jalia, Swahili for Weep, finds herself not knowing where she belongs in life. She is neither a Lion nor a Leopard. She was cast from her home while very young, and found herself trying to find a place where she belonged. Her Leopard Father was no where to be found, and has never stepped forth to welcome her. After finding a lion who would take her in, her first litter of cubs revealed a cub with her mutation, and she found herself cast aside once again.
Despite living among a new, kind lion's pride, and being well taken care of by the king, she feels like she doesn't belong here. While there are many other lionesses with oddities here, they are, at least, still 100% lion. The lionesses have made a point to teach her to hunt, and she impresses them with her quick learning and rapid improvement. But, while they are friendly and encouraging, no one truly understands her loneliness. She hides her sorrow from the others, and is great at faking happiness. However, she often finds herself alone, on the edge of the pride land, gazing at the stars, and longing for a true mate of her own. One who knows the pain of being different. One who will cherish her, protect her, fight alongside her, snuggle with her, and above all, one who will truly love her. Maybe one day... but for now, she remains in the safety of this lion's den.
