The first born mutated male, Soliz was very proud of Pablito’s existence. Despite this fact, Soliz was unable to train Pablito for most of his adolescence, making them grow apart some.

Pablito would go on to attach to his Mother Mur, and occasionally followed the hunters out to watch since there were no other male lions to take him patrolling. Mur eventually caught on to his shenanigans, and he received quite an earful that it’s a miracle he’s unmarked.

When his mother had finally enough and gave Lady and Momo an earful, the two joined forces to make sure Pablito hadn’t left their sight. In this time he would eventually grow to like them, starting to aid them with the cubs when they were being too much.

When Pablitio reached adulthood, He wasn’t sure what to expect. Soliz had been distant, but every now and then would smile fondly when they made eye contact. On the dawn of his second birthday, he was awoken by Soliz who asked him to join him for a walk.

As the two walked Soliz began to speak, “To you it may seem that I know what I’m doing. When in reality, I don’t know. It’s only through sheer luck that this pride hasn’t collapsed.” Soliz went on to discuss early struggles for the pride, some that made Pablito worry for the broodmothers that had been there since the beginning.

The two had walked along the edges of the territory, eventually reaching a waterhole. “Pablito.”Pablito froze as he was about to drink the water,”From what I’ve seen—no,From the moment you were born, I’ve wanted to have you around to contribute to the wellness of our pride.”

“What do you mean?”Pablito began, in fact, He had been worried Soliz brought him here to bring him to the nature reserve like some other lions.

“I want you to become a sub male.”

And with that, any stress or worries that Pablito had were completely gone.
