First lioness You were fast asleep when suddenly you heard Mattala roaring! You arrived just in time to chase off an invading lion. You're glad she was paying attention! You wanted to take a nice walk with Mattala, but she has the habit of looking over her shoulder every couple of minutes. Ugh, now YOU feel nervous too! You walk up to another plain lioness, this one a rich, deep gold. She smiles at you warmly, although her tail flicks nervously upon your arrival. You stop a few feet away for her comfort and she dips her head in greeting. "I'm Mattala," she explains, sitting and studying you closely. "I was Vivien's first lioness. My first litter of cubs is to him." She looks pleased, but not boastful at this fact. Once she's scrutinized your face, she moves a little closer. "I used to hunt for the pride as well, but I switched roles. I was also his first broodmother. Donna is, by far, his best huntress. I could never keep up with her." She chuckles and closes her eyes to feel the wind against her fur.
