Lucifer dragged the hartebeest by it's scruff.
"Lucifer, gone on another hunt, have we?" Yoshi grumbled as she passed.
Lucifer ignored Yoshi and kept her head high, "Keep up, Emrys." The grey and white pelted lionesses sped up to match her mother's speed.
"Being a loyal little daughter, are we?" Yoshi huffed at Emrys. "She's not your real mother, why are you acting like she is."
Lucifer turned to face the rosette lioness. “It's not as though you are the best mother in the world, or the best hunter." She purred calmly, ear flicking in unison with her tail.
"I've gone on seven hunting patrols today! And how many of your little pathetic stumbles have you gone on?"
"Thirteen with Emyrs and seven by myself." Lucifer mewed before turning her back to Yoshi and waking off with her catch.
"And Jesse loves me very much!"
"She's an idiot like you," Emyrs said with a smile before turning off to deliver her prey, running directly into another lioness while not paying attention. "Oh, Markoth. Pleasant surprise."
"Yeah, I suppose," She cast a glance at the ground. "Mother, how was your trip?" Lucifer payed no attention to her daughter's muttering while she sorted through the prey pile, tossing the rotting meat, which smelled strongly of Yoshi, out of the pile with a small hiss.
"Yoshi is back to stealing almost rotted prey from other animals." Markoth sat down beside Emyrs, making her appear even smaller then she was. Markoth sighed but Lucifer kept clawing through the pile in a growl. "If I want to get onto the leaderboard I'll have to go on another hunt, Emrys are you in?"
Before her adopted daughter had time to respond, her real daughter jumped up, "I can do it! Mother, I may not be as good of a hunter as Emrys but I'm strong and can take down large prey myself!”
"Zebra isn't large game," Lucifer gave out a huff. "I suppose you can come along though, you'll need the training."
"Mabye I can get onto the leaderboard!" The young lionesses grinned.
Lucifer chuckled and stroked the aspiring lioness, "You won't. Now, pick up the pace! We have herds to hunt!"
