Grandpaw Mdogo seems to have caught some of the lionesses' attention, talking about a fight he got into with a pack of mangy mutts. He speaks of how he was so brave, and how he fought them off like a true lion. You were there, and the story wasn't even remotely close to what had actually happened... more of the opposite, really. You remember him running off with his tail between his legs at the mere sight of a single hunting dog. When a few cubs are woken during a lightning storm, they all run to Grandpaw Mdogo, who soothes their fear with the story of how thunder and lightning is the roar of the great Apollyon. To entertain the cubs during bath time, Grandpaw Mdogo tells them about the first time he went to the Championships. Even the lionesses are paying attention as Grandpaw Mdogo describes the hulking, rippling, scar-riddled lions fighting for the entertainment of the crowd.
