🥀 Wanda: The Scarlet Witch, The Respected Sorceress 🥀
Wanda is the daughter of Torvi. When the red lioness was born, her coat surprised her mother, with its rich red and black colors, along with the white markings that stood out in the sea of darkness on her pelt. Torvi had thought this was the only surprising thing about her daughter, and Wanda grew up without issue, until she neared the end of her adolescent years. The young lioness had started growing a silky mane that extended from her neck to her paws, and even her belly.
Confused, she and her mother went to Tissaia, who at that point was a respected elder in the pride, and Sansa, who was Tissaia’s half-sister, and was also a maned lioness. The two teach Wanda how to care for her mane, and how to groom herself, and Jaskiier themself even helps as well.
With the extra time it takes to groom, Wanda often ventures into the woods, which is how she stumbled upon the shamans on day in November. She shows so much interest in their art that they offer to teach her, and she gains the nickname ‘Scarlet Witch’ after the mischievous group of cubs only slightly younger than her follow her one day and see her learning with the shamans.
She wears her nickname as a symbol of respect, and is often seen either with the shamans, or, once they left the area for the winter, the cubs, who she acts as an older sister for. She keeps them out of trouble, and provides a more calm environment for Loki and Malekith when they need it, as the two of them are slightly more relaxed than the rest and need a break sometimes.
The Witch ends up being incredibly valuable to the pride when Jaskiier’s heir is born, as she is the one who ultimately realizes that the spirit of their former monarch was intertwined with that of the young Jask. Due to her aid, Jask creates an official role in the pride: Sorceress, just for her. They hope she will eventually find another gifted cub to teach, so the role doesn’t fade into obscurity after she dies.
As Wanda grew older, she worried she would not have any cubs to pass on her legacy. The few cubs she did have were adopted by other prides, but finally, in her last litter, she had one, Schade. The Witch died before she really got to ask her daughter if she would like to train as Sorceress, but she had taught her (and some of the pride’s lionesses) enough to be able to train a worthy successor to the role. She also trained the young Rosalee in herbal healing, for the young lioness wanted to become something new, not a Sorceress, but an Herbalist.
