Adam

Adam is a humble lion, he doesn't know how to accept compliments very well but his brother, Joaquin, is trying to help him with that. He has somewhat of low self-esteem but tries not to show it. Joaquin has, of course, noticed this and tries to encourage his little brother.

In the short time that Adam knew Mimi, he admired him. He saw himself in the King and Mimi knew that. It was a silent bond between the two lions. Loosing him was bitter sweet, glad he got to know him and saddened he had to leave just as quick.

Adam was surprised that Joaquin was crowned as King, to be honest Adam never wondered who would be heir. It all just happened so fast, he was stunned when Mimi announced it. Joaquin was just as stunned, Adam thought. After Mimi's passing, Joaquin came to speak with him. "Adam.. Mimi told me something when he told me I would be heir."
"What is it?" Adam asked, his anxiety kicking in.
"He told me to take care of you, and to see you as my right-hand man."
"What?" Adam said, again with that stunned look on his face.
"He wants us to run our pride together."
"You're the King." Adam said.
"We are meant to do this together, as brothers, Adam." Joaquin urged.
"No.." He said quietly, "Why me? You're so much better fit as a King, you can do this on your own."
"Mimi said that for a reason little brother, I would of picked you instead of me." Joaquin said.
I would of picked you instead of me, those words ringed in his mind, how? Adam was insecure and quiet, he could *never* be a leader.
"Please." Joaquin urged again after Adam went silent, "We have each other."
"Maybe he was wrong, maybe he felt *sorry* for me, Joaquin."
"You know how much Mimi saw himself in you, you told me yourself." Joaquin replied sternly.
Adam went silent again, maybe Joaquin was right, it's all so overwhelming.
"Just, give me time." He said at last.
"Alright." Joaquin nuzzled his brother then walked away, leaving Adam drowning in his thoughts.
