Veni

Chains shift as the lioness stretches across the floor of her cave, nuzzling into the Leoponess she seduced the night before. Soft, gentle strokes of her tongue against fur coax sleepy, loving purrs into the morning air. But is this to last?

Daughter of the hunt, Veni is not one to rest. Pride to pride she roams, luring away lionesses curious to the charms of a female and their roars reach to the stars above. Come morning, she roams again. Many a King has driven her off. Many a night has been spent alone. But her wayward heart never rests.

Always another charming purr. Another honeyed word. Another night on the run. Running from her name. Running from the title she wishes she never held. For she is not the royal daughter she is destined to be. She is of the land. She is of the hunt. And her heart lies in finding the love she craves. The love she can never seem to grasp.

Perhaps one day it will come to rest in the paws of the last one she expects. But until then...maybe she can keep this lover for one more night.
