Biography

𝒩𝒶𝓂𝒾
Home Pride
(Hero #122934)

As the first born daughter of the newly kinged Cerbahu, it was no surprise that Nami grew into a polite and regal young lioness. However, as her father proved himself a rather... Fruitful king, and she found herself tripping on more and more younger siblings almost every day, the young princess began to tire of such an ever-bustling pride. Being the big sister to an army of cubs was no easy task, and truthfully? Not the life she wanted to lead.

She had always preferred the quiet, to sit and enjoy the world around herself in peace and tranquility. Instead of socializing with the younger members of the pride, Nami would take off on her own and find a place where she could simply listen. She'd listen to the wind, listen to the birds flying by, and listen to the life that pulsated through the very ground beneath her paws.

Something called to her, something away from her ever growing family... She wanted to see more of the world.

"Nami?" She heard her father's voice call out to her one day as she sat near the edge of their territory. "I thought I might find you here." He rumbled, pawing his way over and sitting beside her. She looked to him, seeing the caring twinkle in his eyes that made her squirm. She knew she wasn't supposed to go off on her own, not without telling anyone— and yet, there wasn't even the slightest trace of anger in her father's eyes. He was always so gentle, even when her mother, Taza, would snark and badger her for her behavior, the kind king would step in and cool things off.

"I'm sorry." She'd go to mumble anyways, scuffing a paw against the dirt and looking away from him. Somehow, his kindness only made her feel more guilty for disobeying him.

"Don't be." Was his only immediate response, as he turned his gaze away to look off into the distance, the same way she had been peering longingly just moments before. "...You aren't happy here, are you?" The question surprised Nami, and she'd lift her head again with wide eyes. "I— What? No, I mean.. Of course I am. I just..." She lied through her teeth, and she knew he could tell just as well as she could. Ears flattening, she tried to find her words, but it felt like someone had grabbed a hold of her tongue and was holding it in place.

There was a moment of silence, and she could feel her father take a pitying glance her way. She breathed in deep, doing her best not to lose her words again as she spoke, "I.. Want to see more." She breathed out, and as she said it, she was never more certain of anything in her life. "I want to wake up to new sounds and smells and sights, not just my brothers and sisters rough-housing every day. I want to meet others outside of the pride. I want to.. I want to explore."

There were a few moments of silence, and Nami could feel her chest tighten, fearful of her loving father's response. Surely, he would want her to stay and fulfill her duty to the pride, to help raise her younger siblings, to be the regal princess others could look up to...

She was surprised by the gentle touch of his muzzle. "Then go. Find your happiness... Just, promise me you'll return someday."

She could feel emotion welling up inside her. "...I will."

Nami's Adventures
Excited to see the world, Nami would return one last time to say her goodbyes to the rest of her pride. Though met with some confusion and sadness, she did not let it bring her down. With her father's support boosting her morale, she would eat a final meal with her family before setting off into the unknown.

First Contact Outside of Her Pride

Nami took her first steps out of her home pride. Scared she headed off to see what the world had to offer her. Once a few miles out she had several mixed feelings. She thought, "Maybe I'm making a mistake? What if I get killed out here? What if I never see my father again?" These thoughts swarmed her head until she realizes when she looked around she didn't recognize where she was. Nami got worried and decided to look for something to eat since it was getting late. She spots a lovely older lioness laying near the water taking sips as she looks in her reflection. Nami walks up to her and sheepishly asks. "Excuse me miss? Would you know of a pride nearby that may have some spare food and a safe place to sleep?" The female looks up at her and smiles, " Of course! I'll direct you towards our travelers coordinator Baklava and by the way, my name is A'Tivik. Nami has a sigh of relief and follows A'Tivik towards the travelers den. As soon as they get there A'Tivik gives her a beautiful shawl to wear around her waist. Nami was so happy for this gift and thanks A'Tivik profusely. Baklava shows her inside and gives her a warm place to sleep and a large meal to enjoy. Nami stays with this pride for some time to the point she already forgot her adjective! She thanks the pride for their hospitality but explains that she must go! They understand and she heads off to see new sights and meet new prides.

Second Pride
***Sonnie #319111***
Nami, with the start of confidence sparking within her. Set her sights on a more challenging venture, up the terrain of "Mount Three Suns"-- she judged that since spring was newly set in she would have an easy hike. Her plan was to scale up and over the mountain, widening her footing a hefty sum. Yet when she curved over a hill, she laid on a pride. Remarkable she thought, that lions could inhabit this place-- especially at the winters worst. As she entered the camp, she was welcomed quite fondly.
"Welcome traveller to the Pride of Three Suns, we offer food and shelter for as long as you wish to stay." Spoke Nishikigoi, the leader of this pride. Beside her was a young felis, no more than a year and a half from the look of her. "My apprentice will show you to your den."

As Nami was shown her sleeping quarters; a thick common sage bush that made her pelt reak of the stuff as she checked her temporary living situation. She managed to get the young lioness's name out of her.
"Helianthus." She spoke in a hushed voice, her voice thick with the pride's accent. This young lioness she only learned in passing was to be the next "Vision Bringer" (The name they gave to their queens she figured). How a lioness, so soft-spoken and shy could take on such a major role in a pride complex her.
"You should rest up." The lioness spoke, leaving Nami alone to ponder.

As the moon cycles went on Helianthus opened up more to Nami, and Nami opened more to her. Nami told stories about her first pride encounter aswell as her home pride. She spoke of her father and her many kin. Helianthus taught Nami a form of meditation called "grounding"-- she felt quite awkward doing it yet Helianthus insisted on its importance to peace.
On the night before Nami was to start her travels up once more Helianthus came to her and offered her a gift. "I hope you have safe travels, and that you spread your light to more territory. I inspire to be like you--" The felis spoke. "When I become the Vision Bringer I will keep my pride open to lionesses like you." As Nami climbed down the mountain she sent out a wish for the soft voice felis. A lucky rabbit's foot swung from her neck as she walked.

Third Pride
***Unnamed_Raven [#243915]***
*I removed the Clean Lake BG, I hope it’s okay bc it’s a really easy one to get. I don’t know who added it, but if you want it back pm me! I really think the Acacia Forest BG suits her.*
Nami arrived in Dreamscape Pride to find a peaceful and harmonious pride. Or so she’d thought. Little by little, the secrets began to slip through the cracks. And when it was revealed to her that the Queen planned to sacrifice her in a ritual to summon the dead, Nami knew it was time to leave. She had long overstayed, anyway.

Fourth Pride
***Hero #122934***
Her latest adventure had left Nami feeling horribly home-sick for some reason, and she couldn't help but feel she had been gone for far too long. Unable to shake the feeling that crawled through gut like maggots, she would hurry back along the path she'd taken and make her way home— Even if just to visit, for awhile.

It took some time, as she had traveled far on her journey, but she was determined to rid herself of this nagging feeling that would not leave her be. When she finally set her gaze upon the familar horizon that marked home, her pawsteps felt lighter, and though tired, she would begin to run.

Some things looked different— but it was all mostly the same. There were trees where she remembered, and stones unturned where they'd sat just like when she was young.

In no time, she had reunited with her pride— Roars and bellows of surprise announced her arrival. She didn't even recognize every lion there, but there were plenty that she did. Soon enough, she spotted her father pushing his way through the commotion, and the beaming look on his face as soon as he spotted her made it clear to Nami he had missed her as much as she'd missed him.

They would spend many days catching up, and Nami would tell her father and the rest of her family of the places she'd been and the lions she had met. In turn, she would be told of what she'd missed since she'd departed. Her mother had passed in her absence, and though it made her heart ache that she had not been here, she at least would not have to grieve alone.

However, despite everything, Nami kept noticing things that felt... Strange, somehow. Her family seemed.. Older. Older than they should have been— She hadn't been gone that long, had she? She saw it most in her father, the way he had slowed down since she'd last seen him, but she also saw it in many of the siblings she had left behind. How could it be that things had moved on so quickly without her...? She just couldn't place it. The last pride she'd stayed with— She knew they'd had nefarious plans for her, it's why she'd been so eager to visit home and be reminded of the comfort that awaited her when she was finally ready to settle. Maybe there had been something else at play...

There was little point in ruminating on these thoughts. Instead, she needed to make a decision. Stay, or go...? She realized, grimly, that if she left again, her father might not be here when she returned. The thought absolutely shattered her to her core, and even in her eagerness to see the world, could she really ever live with herself for leaving him yet again...?

...No. No, for now, she would stay. She was still young, there would be plenty of time to see the world later. For now, she would embrace these precious moments with her family. She realized now just how precious they were.

. . .

Nami would stay with her pride until the day her father finally passed, and she would mourn with her many brothers and sisters. It was only some time after this that the lioness would finally let her paws lead her away from her home, a painful twinge in her heart with every step she took. Her father, the first ever lion who encouraged her to follow her heart, was gone. Now, all she could do was continue to follow his advice, and honor his life by living her own to the fullest. She would stop one last time near the edge of her home territory, looking back upon her home. "...Goodbye, father."

Fifth Pride
***Skyvole #427775***
Nami walked over to a pride bustingwith travelers and Nami was celebrated as she entered the pride. She learned of the war and the loss of mant beloved pride memebers and the corruptionof a normally kind king. A cremello horse kept following her everywhere so Nami allowed the horse to accompany her.

Sixth Pride
***King of Thorned Roses #208923***
***Nami continued her travel, eventually coming across the King of Thorned Roses’ pride where she stayed longer than expected, she didn’t think that her age would catch up to her anytime soon but it finally may have***

Seventh Pride
***Blackwidow #241524***
***Nami wandered for quite a bit. Suddenly there a large ominous black cloud in the air. A horrid buzzing sound. Frightened she picked up the pace, her paws thundering across the plains as she finally found herself nearly nose to nose with a young a male. The male had rather large fangs. "Hello there, are you alright? You look as though you have seen a ghost." He asked kindly and Nami between breaths spat out. "Cloud, buzzing, coming!" The male blinked a moment tilting his head. "Take a moment, deep breaths, calm down." Finally Nami was able to catch her breath. "Big black cloud and it's buzzing coming this way!" Primal fang then looked out over the horizon and sure enough there was a large black buzzing cloud coming this way. "Hurry come, let's get you to safety. Names primal fang!" He then quickly ushered Nami to the pridelands.

There she met with the king while both told him of what they saw. Tundra gave a sigh and nodded. "Yes the locusts are coming. While out patrolling on my own I came across a sickly ominous creature named the Harbringer. Doing little tasks for him he is filling me in on what all this means. Sadly Cersei never mentioned something like this before his passing. Kinda wish he had. For the time being welcome Nami, please make yourself at home."

Nami would nod and thank him. During her stay she found a small mouse who became her friend and would sit upon her head while she wandered around getting to know the pride. She met with their shaman a lovely lady named Angakok II having been named after her mother. She had a sort of otherworldly effect about her. She found herself growing on this female, after spending a few days with Angakok she was given an ancient lion mask. "I don't think I can accept this..." Nami tried to refuse. Angakok gave a posh sound and waved her paw. "Yes darling you do. You will understand in time." She beamed a smile at Nami, finally Nami put on the skull to Angakoks delight. "Very good."

After quite a few days she bid her farewells. It was time for her to move on. "Thank you for letting me stay. I wish you good luck with this Harbringer and the plague of locusts that have seemed to appear from nowhere." She had enjoyed chasing the locusts out of the territory with the cubs. But now it was time to say goodbye. And so off she went to the next pride.***

Eighth Pride
*** ꨄꌚ꓄ꍏꋪꨄ #4436696***
***Nami had left the pride she was currently staying at, while waiting for other owners to claim her so she can move on her way, she had finally joined the Alpha Pack as a Broodmother. Already Nami had eyes looking at her by the lead Zander. He fell in love with her really quick. Nami knew she always loved the cubs, and wanted to start her own family again, and so she did just that. ***

Ninth Pride
***The Dragon #448452***
***Nami wandered into the new pride. The lionesses were curious of her as well as the many cubs and teens. The GrandPaw of the pride, Asland Narnia, gave her a warm smile as to welcome her. The young king, Ancient Soul, sniffed her from afar but kept his distance. The old female dwarf, Zuri, was happy to have someone around her age who was female for once. The cubs, however, knew no boundaries and were all over her. Oh boy.***

Nami's Final Journey
- - -
After the last pride, and once again feeling ever-so-slightly overwhelmed by the rambunctiousness of young cubs, Nami began to feel home-sick once more. She could tell her age was finally catching up to her, and so when she started off again, her mind would drift to thoughts of home. They were mostly bittersweet thoughts, as she knew her father would not be there when she returned again. She wasn't even certain she would recognize the pride she returned to, if that's what she chose to do.

She would travel slowly for many days, taking her time picking her way back through the stretches of terrain she had spent her years exploring. Her old bones had begun to ache, and it took much longer for her to get from place to place. Despite this, no matter how slowly, she would make her way back to the territory of her youth. When she finally saw her home on the horizon, she would take pause, looking up to the sunlit sky and take in its warmth. Something within her told her that this warmth was her father welcoming her back home, and she couldn't help but smile as she closed her eyes and took it in.

She was home.
