Lord Veno only allows this lion to live because Ensor, (Previous King) told every lioness and lion in the territiory that Whicker was to one day succeed the throne. Lord Veno killed Ensor and Whicker was not old enough to assume power. Veno nearly killed Whicker. But Lord Veno felt that he at least owed Ensor one last piece of legacy. And that legacy is Whicker. You greet Whicker with a head bump. He smiles a little, as if grateful for the attention, before returning to his usual dark corner.
