As you finally come out on the desertic plains, a brown hyena stops you in your track. She is yapping at you but you don't understand what she says. She doesn't seem aggressive, more like protective. You look around until you finally notice it, the treasure she is looking after. 2 pups are nested in the cave. They are so small, they must be only a few weeks old. You reassure the mother, you won't touch the pups. As you pass by the litter, you notice that one pup is looking more like a cub actually. You are horrified when you realise what has happened. A lioness must have left the poor thing behind in the plains. Thankfully the hyena found it and decided to care for it, just as she did with all the cubs you've just met. How can a fierce hyena be more kind than a lion ? Hexapoda was right, the lions in this den don't deserve to be a part of the pride.
