Sphingas

Sphingas sat hunched over, his head hanging low as he stared at the ground below him. His mind was filled with negativity as he sat on his own near an opening in the den.

You noticed his gloomy look and decided to sit beside him, looking at the ground as well. Your tail curled up and sat perfectly over your two front paws.

"What is it now.." Sphingas questioned you and your sudden appearance.

"Checking in on you again. Mellow once more?"

Sphingas hesitantly nodded, though it was obvious what was up. You lifted up your head and you stared over at him.

You already know why he felt this way. "Sphingas, memory is all around us, as well as within. I get you are lonely, but none of that will change if you don't do anything. What you need to do i-" You were cut off before you could finish.

"DON'T tell me what I need." Sphingas snapped at your face, an inch away from your nose. You flinched as his large fangs raced towards your face and sighed in relief when you were left untouched. You remained in place as you watched Sphingas uncomfortably scurry off.

Maybe this wouldn't have happened if you didn't turn your head towards Sphingas or had even mentioned a word in the first place. Oh well, he's a loner obviously but that only leaves a burden for him to carry.
