Selenus

This little guy is Namiri’s adopted son, Selenus. Namiri just brought him home one day with no explanation and introduced him to his new family 🤣 ‘Uncle Rego’ lets him stay, of course.

Selenus idolizes Msiri, the leader of the royal guard. He follows the elderly lion everywhere, hanging on his every word. Msiri warms up to the cub, telling him stories, and teaching him hunting pounces more suitable for his larger primal frame. The two are practically attached at the hip, and when Selenus accidentally calls Msiri ‘Papa’, Msiri proudly bops him on the head and says: “That’s right, kiddo.”

Found family tropeeeee 🥹 Namiri is his Mama and Msiri is his Papa. The two get along alright, and both think accidentally sharing a son is hilarious 🤣

When Msiri passes, Rego is proud to offer Selenus his foster father’s position on his guard. Selenus accepts, eager to follow in Msiri’s paw steps. He proves a strong and honorable addition to the guard, and defends the borders fiercely. He is good friends with Crown Prince Kanu, and later, Prince Sababu. Prince Sababu is determined to lead the Guard one day, and Selenus would be proud to follow him. The boy reminds him of Msiri: a selfless leader and fierce defender.

~You were feeling a little bit of anxiety over the rumor that the hyenas would attack soon. Selenus sat next to you, however, and told you that he would proudly stand by your side no matter what happens.

~You heard last night that Selenus cleared some fallen branches and brush from a path near the den. Now the lionesses can drag prey back easier! Nice! 2x
