Icicle

INTERACTIVE STORY: Meet Icicle and decide how to respond to her.

On your travels you come across a ice blue Broodmother protecting a few small cubs. She is sitting near the edge of a lake staring off into the distance.

You approach, but she doesn't seem to notice. You clear your throat and say, "Hello".

The pale blue lioness jumps with surprise, letting out a fierce battle cry worthy of a warrior. "She inspects you for a moment but then seems to decide you're not much of a threat. She relaxes the steps forward beside the small cubs.

"You gave me a scare" she says in a slightly mocking tone. "I guess that means I'm not as cut out for this job as I thought I was. If you could sneak up on me that easily, I shouldn't be protecting these cubs." She says glancing at the little fur balls, "Do you think I should quit, and let someone else protect them?"

1: The ice blue lioness blinks at you, "Thank you, you're very kind. My name's Icicle by the way, you're welcome to visit anytime." Icicle says warmly, "If you like cubs that is." She finishes with a laugh.

2: The ice blue lioness is suddenly very interested in the ground, she paws at a leafy plant with her paw. "Oh well I ...." she trails off, "I like my job, but maybe you're right." She glances at the cubs again, "I'd do anything to protect them, but If I'm getting distracted..." You suddenly feel very awkward standing there, "Well I better be going now" you say quickly. She nods looking utterly despaired as you turn and stroll away.

3: The ice blue lioness stares back at you waiting for a response, when you still don't offer one she flicks her tail with annoyance. "Well it was a rhetorical question anyways." She says before turning away to play with the cubs. You walk away without another word, wondering if you should've said something.
