Delilah

Despite being twice his age, Delilah steals Wema’s heart like no other lioness in his pride has managed to do, not even his beloved River or the formidable Queen Asta. Wema dotes on her constantly, showering her with gifts and compliments, and altogether acting like a love struck little boy. Delilah doesn’t seem to mind.

Delilah is named Queen Consort in place of Asta when her son is born. Wema thinks Iliyo is even more promising than Isakari, and while he is not named heir immediately, he is the son of the official queen.

Delilah has four litters with King Wema, each one grows up pampered and adored, and like most of the cubs in the secretive Hidden Valley Pride all of them except Iliyo and Ukarimu leave as adults to explore the world. Finally, when she is well over 14 years of age, Wema is able to convince her to retire from the hunting party, and spend her time with him and their last child, being looked after and provided for, as she has done for the pride for years.

~You were feeling a bit down after a pridemate teased you about a mane tangle. Then, Delilah cheerfully asked you what you did differently that morning to look so ruggedly handsome! Awwww, thanks! 3x

~It would have been a boring day in the pride, but Delilah commented on how everyone deserved a well-earned rest. Can’t argue with that way of looking at it!
