Qaysah, a lioness of considerable spirit and wanderlust, hailed from the Makalo pride. Her journey led her to an unexpected encounter the pride of Mufa$a, forging a valuable alliance between the two prides. She was welcomed into Mufa$a's pride, embracing the opportunity to explore their expansive territory, a landscape vastly different from her own.
A particular highlight of her time with Mufa$a's pride was the discovery of a lake, a hidden oasis teeming with small creatures. The lionesses recognizing Qaysah's weariness from her travels, brought her to this tranquil spot, a place of peace and abundance, a fitting reward for her and a symbol of the welcoming spirit of her journey.

Qaysah arrived in Azalea's pride in the late afternoon. The queen greeted her warmly and quickly led her towards a cave for her to stay in. Entering the cave, she saw an older lioness curled around some cubs, regaling them with tales of her own adventures. Qaysah would spend the rest of her stay with this lioness, who's name was Siamese. They swapped stories of their travels. Siamese had travelled far and visited many different prides before finally returning to her home pride. Before Qaysah left, Siamese leaned over her, tucking a flower behind her ear and offering her blessings for the rest of her journey.

Qaysah arrived at Khafren's pride as the sun cast long shadows across the golden savanna. The land pulsed with power, its lions moving with a regal grace unlike any she had seen before. This was no ordinary pride—it was a kingdom, and at its heart stood Khafren, the exiled prince who had reclaimed his throne.
His presence was undeniable. Broad-shouldered, his mane thick as the storm clouds before the rain, he regarded her with the piercing gaze of a ruler who weighed all before him. A traveler like her was an unusual guest in his lands, but Khafren did not turn her away. Instead, he granted her a place among his hunters—a privilege not easily earned.
Hunting alongside Khafren's pride was unlike anything she had experienced. The lions moved with precision, their tactics a balance of raw strength and calculated strategy. Qaysah adapted quickly, proving her worth in the chase, her instincts sharp, her speed unmatched. But the pride did not only value strength—it valued legacy.
She spent her evenings near the cubs, their wide eyes filled with curiosity as they listened to stories of the lands beyond their home. The pride's lionesses watched her with quiet approval, seeing something in her beyond just another traveler.
And so did Khafren.
One night, under the endless expanse of the starlit savanna, he came to her. No words were needed—his gaze alone spoke of what he offered. A gift, not of material wealth, but of legacy. To bear the offspring of a king was the highest honor in his pride, and he had chosen her.
It was not an order, not a demand—Khafren was a ruler, but he was no tyrant. It was an invitation, one that acknowledged her strength, her spirit, and the fire in her heart.
By the time she left his lands, she carried more than just memories of her time in his pride—she carried the future.
And somewhere, far behind her, the golden king watched, knowing that his bloodline would roam beyond his borders, carried by a lioness as free as the wind itself.

Qaysah arrived to the Himaya Nyekundu Kingdom on the best moment, for her at least. King Khepri had been known across the lands for being ruthless and despicable -not as much as his brother though-, but now, reached by age, he had calmed a lot compared to his younger self. While he wasn't a fan of travelers, he still allowed Qaysah to stay and offered her a place in Hydrangea Creek, the home to the lionesses special for their lineage.
She was told much of the pride's history there. How it had gone from a welcoming, heart-warming pride to a bloody, unfair one, where all the members could think of was having a good place in the hierarchy as to avoid a terrible ending. Many lionesses seemed extremely affected by having their cubs killed or trained, since many of them grew desensitized to blood or pain. Each story was worst than the last, and Qaysah wasn't specially sure she'd want her cubs to grow in such a place.
It was only after the next heir, Maher, appeared to appease her mind. Unlike Khepri, Maher only seemed to have hatred and cold-blood when talking about humans, but was extremely empathetic though strict with his own kind. He reassured Qaysah multiple times that this witch hunt would end once he was crowned, and that she shouldn't worry about having offspring here and them being tortured to be soldiers. Maher had a natural ability to calm other creatures, and Qaysah wasn't the exception.
Thanks to him, she was able to look for a male during her heat to comfortably have a cub in the calm Hydrangea Creek. Three months later she gave birth to her beautiful boy Huckleberry, his name being chosen after the title of a human book she had found once. She made sure to stay as long as possible to guarantee he wouldn't be influenced by the pride's bloody values, until the day came when King Khepri was killed by poachers and so Maher ascended to the throne.
The pride would keep it's name, which meant "The Scarlet Kingdom", but it would now be scarlet by human blood. Seeing the prince be crowned and talking with him for one last time, Qaysah was able to finally leave the territory relieved, knowing that her son was in good paws and her legacy secured. She could now peacefully retire to her home, and tell the stories of her adventures during all of her life. She wanted her son to talk of her as the great traveler she was, just as Cloudelle, Siamese's daughter did. Cloudelle was the one to gift her the Hoopoe bird, actually.
