From the day that she was born, Chloris had experienced nothing but love. Even from the cubs around her, nobody had once treated her as if she was different. But when things had changed and she had started to see more pity in everyone's eyes than love, she was confused and heartbroken. It wasn't until Themis approached her with a large leaf, a slimy substance sitting on the item.

"What is this, ma'am?" She had asked, voice soft as she peered between the angelic lioness and the mystery liquid. Themis just smiled softly as she moved to lay down in front of Chloris, gently reaching forward to nuzzle the cub's cheek with her snout. The cub giggled in response, leaning down to sniff at the substance. "Well, child. I'm sure you've noticed it by now. The looks, the whispers." Themis started, nudging Chloris yet again when she saw her face fall at the reminder. "It's because when you were born, we knew that the time we had left with you was limited. The strain that your body is put under is too much for you to live normally. That's why I give you this."

Themis nudged the leaf closer to Chloris, the cub able to tell that the other had a gentle curve to their eyes despite them being covered. "We want you to remain with us, Chloris. This will help you live longer and happily, without worry of what your body might do."

Without hesitation, Chloris gulped down the substance, having to stop to gag at the texture. As the effect began and settled in her body, she could feel the changes. How her body grew lighter and she felt better, healthier, despite her physical exterior.

She grinned, bounding up before launching herself at Themis in a hug, glad to have found her eternal home.
