ashfur, to his brides, was an enigma. his personality was tinged with snark and he was a mystery to them all. was he the cause of the disappearance of their former king, grovon? ever since that night, grovon disappeared without a trace. did ashfur kill him? it was just one night, one night that had changed the pack dynamic forever. so many lionesses sent away following his disappearance. ashfur seemed to not care if they were with cubs either, yet each time he sent them off from the pride, his eyes were filled with this distinct softness that none of the lionesses could place. they weren't killed at the very least. he was blunt, perhaps ruthless, but he never was too violent. kindhearted, cute, candid grovon. that's what all of the pride saw him as. even kyon, a rather hardy male, looked up to him as a father. suddenly disappearing. though it wasn't uncommon in pride dynamics, it was still shocking to those he loved. grovon was so very close to all his brides and cared for his cubs as if all of them were his favorite. it was more confusing when ashfur appeared and there seemed to be no sign of a fight. no scratches, no ruggedness. ashfur appeared as if he knew what to do from the very start. as if it was his calling to take over the pride. when the lionesses would hunt, they saw no sign of any grovon. no scent tracks to follow, no body, no nothing. the queens don't know what to think of him. still, after many years, ashfur couldn't be figured out. he was never close to a particular pride member nor did he pay close attention to his cubs. hopefully before his retirement there will be someone who can reach his shielded heart.
