When Alfonse left his pride at the time all young male lions do, he set off with his brother in search of new territory to conquer. After weeks of searching, Alfonse’s brother conquered a pride for his own. He allowed Alfonse to stay with him as a subordinate until he found his own pride to become king of. Eventually in the pride's travels, Alfonse did find a place to call his own. His brother, however, had grown greedy in the time between, and after Alfonse had won over this pride, he took it form him. After the fight against the previous leader, Alfonse was near death, so it was easy for his brother to take his place. Iraki left Alfonse to die on the plains. Unfortunately for him, Alfonse was not that easy to kill. He revived himself and moved on, becoming stronger in both body and mind, and harboring a boiling hatred for his traitorous kin.
