* Breeding to a mutated stud does not affect your chances of conceiving a mutated cub unless the stud is a variation of piebald or primal.
Biography
When Darra was a tiny little cub and still protected by his loving mommy, his family had been attacked by some cruel poachers. Hidden in the treetop of a spiky ilex mitis the helpless youngster had to watch the bloody fight his parents tried to win. Darra called out for his sister, trying to save her. She tried to climb the tree right behind him, but she was ramming her tiny claws in the tough bark, all for nothing. The poor little boy, Darra, watched her being slaughtered and lost a part of his little pounding heart as if it would have stopped. His infant happiness seemed to will ever be gone… He felt himself dying, but his life wouldn’t end. As if it was screaming, his heart ached, and Darra couldn't understand why he still had to be alive and what the purpose of that threatening torment was. He lost all his hope, his faith and the world around him dried out like a plant suffering from death bringing aridity. Lonely he wandered As if nothing around him would live anymore.
Soon dehydrated and hungry, he stumbled through the small territory of Yankari National Park in Nigeria. But blessed in disguise he was found by some rangers. Yet they had the look of those bad guys that had extinguished his pride. Emulating the moves of his strong father, Dare, tiny Darra tried to fight the big humans. But suddenly he felt somehow sleepy and dissy. He fought like he never fought before despite his unfocused limbs. But he had no chance to win. He passed out and the all-lacerating impuissance was the worst feeling he had ever felt. But Darra didn’t know that the rangers took him toa rearing station where he grew up enjoying a kind of safety he had never known before. Soon he grew stronger and became proud and positive again. He didn’t know that this new and healthy state soon implicated a freedom which his dead father, Dare, has never been able to teach him about. Barely familiar with his grown body and new skills he has been released into the wilderness.
It took him some time and much more aching lessons to teach himself living like a lion was meant to live. Soon he met his first mate, Rana. She was a quite vain lioness and yes, Darra learned fast that this hubris absolutely came in handy out there. Rana counted more years and therefore much more skills about that free, but likewise dangerous wilderness than any lion in Darra’s age could have been able to develop so far. They had a pretty wild time out there searching the right spot that could feed the new pride and give it a save shelter to the new pride. Good thing, that Rana gave Darra a chance, despite him being a kind of poor lion in comparison to those big bad testosterone-monsters he had to fight off soon. Well. Rana liked it a bit of coarse. Being a queen teaching one to be a king gave her the tribute her inner wounds needed. So thanks to the heartwarming rangers and his big love, Rana, Darra finally made it to be an king of his own pride. Being the king of his own pride, he probably would always be remembering his beloved family and what he had learned about the differences of good and bad… But Darra didn’t figure on getting to know somebody he had never met before. Somebody that reminded him of something special inside of him, he has forgotten. It was the Harbinger that taught Darra about his inner voice. A voice that let’s one feel that big core, a core where everything is one. Darra learned about the good and the bad. He could no longer make out… a difference. The harbinger watched him wander with heaven and chuckled as he could see Darra’s head aching trying to ask every big question a living being could ask. Darra learned of the harbinger about the bad being good and the good being bad. And so, he soon learned that the dreadful event he and his family had to go through made him what he was now. He learned that some of his weaknesses were strengths. Things he always dismissed about him somehow got attractive. He learned that death was a part of the system he lived in as big as being life itself. He felt that the world had more to give than sunshine or thunderstorm. He felt everything being for a reason. He learned about fear, anger, sadness, shame and the terrifying impuissance. He accepted them. And he soon learned that they are as worthy as every positive feeling he knew. He felt the sun warming his coat, knowing that it was able to burn this lands down. He felt the thunderstorm crawling freezingly under his fur, knowing that it was be able to bloom this lands.
And finally, he felt it. This one satisfaction and inner peacefulness. This freedom. He felt everything being one for a good reason. He felt what it was all about, that circle of life.
