Biography
Prince Coal was born in King Harfang’s Pride and raised as his son, even though his sire was was the King of a foreign pride. His mother, the shaman of the pride, raised him to be wise and taught him the ways of the spirits. Seth, the prince’s mentor and Harfang’s loyal subordinate male, taught him to be humble, respectful and kind. Harfang, even if he liked the young lion deeply, knew that he wouldn’t be his heir, because the King was still young and healthy. He chose to seek a pride where Coal would fit in instead of training him to be a sub male, because he knew that Prince Coal had a lot of potential, being of pure heritage, and born with his parent’s numerous vitiligo markings and born with a royal shaped mane. The young prince was then raised alongside Princess Owlet, King Harfang’s darling daughter. The two royal cubs bonded like true siblings! Prince Coal was often found playing with his sister, protecting her during spars and bringing her snacks when he returned from patrolling with Seth. You greet Prince Coal regally and he greets you back with a bowed head, licking your chin in reverence. Prince Coal plops next to you and tells how he's proud to work under your leadership. You wonder if he ever wants to be a king, but he nuzzles you and says no - he'd be a poor replacement for you!
