"Shepherd" As an adolescent, he was chased from his birth pride by the king who had just taken power. This king, a mighty Smilus, didn't trust him - in that pride, there was a prediction that a lion matching Malusi's description would bring down a Smilus if one were to take power within the pride. He spent weeks walking through the savannah, hoping that he'd eventually locate a pride to call home (or to find a young lioness he could claim and start his own pride). One night, Malusi crossed paths with the mysterious entity known as The Wanderer - and he offered to help guide the young lion to a pride. Accepting the offer, Malusi followed The Wanderer for what felt like days. Once they reached the outskirts of the Broken River pride's territory, The Wanderer simply nodded and left. Hopefully the lions in the pride would be welcoming towards Malusi. He glances over his shoulder one last time before continuing deeper into the new territory - running directly into a group of lionesses returning from a hunt. He followed them back to the pride's home in the territory. Where Kubu, in one of his times of clarity, welcomed Malusi into the pride - and chose him as his heir.
