King of the Jungle

Braveclaws was born to a large pride which worshipped the god of death and night, Dismere. The young lion was very patient but had always been wary of the god. Braveclaws lived there until he came of age, and he left without a second thought, glad to put the god of death behind him. He founded his own pride in the bright and sunny savannahs, and before long he gained members. For six years, the pride lived in blissful ignorance of any gods, their only knowledge of them coming from small talk with lions from the three surrounding prides in the area. That was until Whistling Winds came along. This pure white lioness hailed from the very pride Braveclaws grew up in long ago, and she brought the stories of Dismere with her. Soon many of the members of Braveclaw's pride were seduced by the tales of godly lions, many of which starred the death god himself, although in Whistle's stories he was far more heroic than Braveclaws remembered. Braveclaws worries for the future of his pride once he is no longer king, for his heir, Cherryfrost, is one of Dismere's biggest admirers. Alas, there is little Braveclaws can do but try to teach his heir of Dismere's true likeness and hope that the younger lion makes the right choice.
