Prana has taken over the duties of a ruler in strides. As the lionesses settled with Ira as queen and heir the lionesses finally felt a sense of community, as Ira was one of them and the young Queen had no problem to get the approval of the huntresses that had seen her grow up or grew up alongside her. Prana was like a the first wet season rain. His rule started steadily and slowly until his overtaking of the pride followed many changes of how the lands were patrolled and used by the pride. For one he gave the newer lionesses a purpose in his pride while assuring the thinned out but very dominant "royal" lionesses that their pride would be provided for. He was no Thrandil or Helios, but as a seasibed male well into his prime he had the gift of patience and an open ear. Prana knew the desert and the changing of the seasons well as a desert lion and he made great strides to teach his pride how to traveres the dry lands as well as enjoy the lush vision lake with its many hidden dangers during wet season. And since he had foresight he chose both the old queens as his as well as picking a few interesting wanderers that had potential as possible mothers for his heirs.
Lord Prana rules over the crumbled desert Temple of Bast, keeping the tradition and knowledge of old. His Queen, Ira rules over the vision lake. The first oasis after the hot deserts sands bordering the mountainridge of this lands. He is a giant amongst lions and his pelt is the same pitch as the moonless night. His eyes are like the cool pools of water in the desert oasis. You shiver under his piercing stare.
Lord Prana rules alongside Queen Ira, they are not in love per se, but rather friends in duty. Prana challenged old King Helios after he sought revenge on his granddaughter for rejecting his chosen heir Maji. The elder lion bitterly had to accept that he could not battle the chosen mate of his granddaughter, not if he wanted to destroy his family and it would certainly cost his life. And so for the first time in his life he backed down from a fight and bitterly accepted his granddaughters actions.
Ira and Prana roared across the Vision Lake all night, to make it unmistakably clear what alliance has been forged to the animals in their kingdom and the neigboring prides. Prana's first ruling as king was to banish Maji, reluctant to execute a youngster but Queen Ira was much more forceful when the youngster, brash and spoiled did not scramble at once.
Queen Astara would soon make her anger clear. But that is another story.
As Prana returned from the desert Temples he found the pride he left quite in a state of unrest. Queen Ira hat been beside herself as old King Helios announced that a cub would rule instead of her. The old lion did not want to hear of the risks of having a backup heir, did not care what other kingdoms would think or what rumors would spread. The cub was a decendant of Helios and Queen Astara their Grandchild and Maji was to be wed off as a means of building a great alliance. In a season or two he would be able to rule beside Ira and they would get along, or so the old King had planned.
Ira, who had been fond of Prana before suddenly saw a way out of this trouble. If she took a mate and as Queen name him king, she surely could overrule her stubborn Grandfather. And so she made a proposition. She knew of Pranas desire to become king of the desert temples instead of a rugged wanderer. But there was little water and less prey in the far desert. And so she started to flirt with him in earnest and ask him to become her King and he could have a kingdom and wander to the temples whenever he liked while Ira rule as Queen over the vision lake. Seasoned and wisened by the naiivety of his youth he graciously accepted.
He did not expect Ira to harm her juvenile husband and half brother. But she did, she rejected him harshly and dramatically in front of half the pride and Prana was forced to chased him off after Ira confronted her grandfather.
Prince of the desert Temples. The pride he origins from only had a few elderly lionesses and his mother left.
He claims the gods send him a message that he would find a teacher in a pride that lived by the stars guidance. The falling lights showed him the way across the desert to the Starlight pride.
Queen Astara, young and open minded took the thin, young male in and allowed him to learn and follow their Battle Shaman during his patrols.
Prana speaks with an experience and wisdom that is beyond any usual youngsters. He sometimes has a faraway look in his gaze when the Vision Lake pride is mentioned. He tells you that his ancestor lived in a lush and fertile oasis close to the desert a long, long time ago. And their purpose was to tend and guard the forgotten desert temples of a long past kingdom.
Traits:
Growing up in the desert taught him that moving means life. He is always busy always thinking always listening. Modest in what he needs to be comfortable a cool spot to sleep and something in his belly and he is content. A little naive in his trust in others but experience has taught him cation as a rogue. He can go days without talking but once in company he likes to entertain the lions around him.

Once Prana was of age it became quite clear that he was very fond of queen Astara, however he had a duty to return to. Stronger and heavier now that he had reached adulthood he set out to return to the territory bordering the desert. He said his good bye to the kind pride that had fed, taught and trained him and promised to forge an alliance with this pride once he found his purpose and stepped into his royal duty. He would have to earn his own patch of land to fulfill his duty to the desert temples and become it's guardian. And so he set out to the prides close to the desert to regain the right of his ancestors.
Time as a wanderer earned him a fierce reputation, but living as a rogue was an unforgiving life. He now mostly rests at the borders to the vision lake pride, much to king Helios'es displeasure. But Prana made it very clear during a confrontation that he was not here to fight, treating the king with a passive avoidance and offering to clear out unwanted scavengers as a way to repay the king for tolerating him along his border every now and then.
The lionesses of the vision lake pride sometimes sneak him a small share of their hunts in exchange to carrying messenges back and forth prides that some of their cousins and other relatives live in now. Elderly lead huntress Zuberi tolerates the huntresses showing him a trick or two in exchange for a story from the temples. He is a handsome young lad, after all.
