He thought seeking a new Heir would be is best option to keep the Pride going. Sending him to a sister Pride he told Thane and his main females to teach and protect the cub. Agreeing, Thane took the cub under his wing, leaving him the care of the Pride's females and his trusted Sub Male, Alitar. As he grows, Ma'kuu is taking his training and teachings very seriously. Soon, he will return to Makunga and take his place as King. After returning to Makunga and his Pride the old male looked to the young, now fully mature lion in front of him. They shared a moment of silence as they sat next to one another.... That would be the last moment the pair would share together. As Makunga's health deteriorated and his age caught up with him, Ma'Kuu took his place as King. As King he took his role very seriously and would only accept clean females into his Pride. The lionesses that belonged to Makunga were welcome to stay and live their own lives and were able to find Mates, he allowed this as long as they still provided for the Pride. Now, as a father himself he takes great pride and even joy into raising and protection his young.
