You find yourself placing your paws into unfamiliar territory. The trees, though rich in color, loomed tall above you, more intimidating than you'd prefer. Before you can take another step though, you feel your pelt burning. Looking around, you catch November gazing at you through his soft, yellow eyes. He blinks as you lock gazes. He turns, flicking his tail to beckon you to follow him. You do so until you come across a small clearing with a stream running around the edge of it. Still walking, he crosses the stream with one hop and waits for you to do so. When you reach him, you see affection in his eyes. "Even though I may be strong, I'm not as young as I used to be." He begins. You stop yourself from rolling your eyes, though he continues. "My time of reign in this forest is coming to a close end. I shall join my former pride male, Safari. But as the time does come, I worry for my successor. Mallow'Heart is a strong, young lion, but he is nervous and indecisive. He may not be the leader he wishes to be." He rasps. You look at him, tilting your head a bit as you wonder what this has to do with you. He stops, looking at you again. "I'm telling you this because it is very important. Being a leader is different from being a normal warrior. You have the duty of taking care of your pride, not just being taken care of. And as you grow old, you may find a heir. All I can tell you is, make sure you know who is taking control of your pride. There are many, many lions who would love to get their paws on a pride like yours." For a second, you see a lost look in his eyes. "Times change, whether for the good or bad. As my time comes to leave, I wish you and your pride a long, healthy prideship." He nods to you before stepping over the stream once again and vanishing into the forest.
