Kthulu just chuckled. “You’re a lioness, lionesses don’t rule prides.” He snapped at her. “Lioness sit back and obey their MALE leaders.” “But-!” She went to speak up, but got silenced with a slap to her muzzle. “Now, are there any MALE lions who’d like to step up as a heir?” The whole pride was silent. Not a single lion dared to look him in the eyes, except Eros. With a roar she swung her tail, signaling for the pride to follow. That day, that fateful day, each and every lion and lioness left, including our ex-king’s soul partner, Safe & Sound. Eros approaches her with caution, her curiosity being too much to ignore. “My lady, you happen to be on the lands of my pride, and I must ask why you’re here.” The lioness stops in her tracks, her eyes frozen on Eros. “I was just passing through, I have not hunted on your lands, and I mean no harm!” Her voice was like honey, smooth, sweet, and slow. Her words were genuine. With a purr Eros approached her, careful not to startle her. “My lady I’m curious, why do you wear that hood?” “Well, I was told that my beauty was so unmatched for a mortal, that the gods would be angry if I wasn’t covered.” Eros just laughed, she could spot her beauty from miles away. “My lady, being locked in a cave couldn’t hide your radiance, what will a measly hood do?” “You flatter me,..” She paused, looking up at Eros. “I never caught your name?” “Eros.” The lioness looked at our queen in surprise “Eros, as in the daughter of Aphrodite?!” “That is me, my lady. I speak from truth when I say that your beauty is almost unmatched. You must be one of my mother’s favorites, i just know it.” The lioness smiled, and that day our pride gained a new soul, Psyche.
