Name meaning: We Prayed and We Received
As ❄️Safi❄️ patrolled, he was suddenly struck in an attack by a demon, during the haunted moon of October, and was gravely injured. He passed on, but he hoped so desperately not to leave his pride behind that he struggled to remain with them all. The love and caring of his friends gave him the chance to carry on. When he suddenly opened his eyes again, he was a young adult in a new body, a new form. ❄️Safi❄️found himself reborn. And so, with his rebirth, he christened himself with a new name - ❄️Abeni❄️, for his prayers had been answered. Despite his new shape and colors, ❄️Abeni❄️retains all his memories from his previous life, and his love for his pride mates, his friends, and the lioness Asher, remains unchanged.
As his previous form was a Primal, ❄️Abeni❄️finds being a non-mutie somewhat... new. Unused to his new body, he keeps stumbling over his own paws, but he is determined to regain his previous finesse.
During the month of November, newly in his new life and new body, ❄️Abeni❄️was possessed by dark spirits which remained behind, and which were being calmed by the visiting Shamans. Suddenly, he was as cruel and violent as he had previously been good and loving (Piety used - Karma Reversed "Your karma was 189. Your new karma, reversed, is -189.").
This hit quickly, and for a few days, ❄️Abeni❄️ struggled to regain himself. Knowing he was not himself, ❄️Abeni❄️ fought against this invasion, and with the help of the Shamans, drove out the dark spirits. Slowly, but surely, he regained full control of himself, and his brief attack by the darkness was cast aside. ❄️Abeni❄️ returned to his true self, just days after the possession (Regained positive Karma).

❄️Abeni❄️ stepped out from his nest and padded toward the exit, ready to start the day.
Cherry Sunrise met him at the den entrance. "❄️Abeni❄️," she said softly, and he looked over at the lioness who had given birth to him when he was a primal named ❄️Safi❄️, and smiled hesitantly, still unsure how comfortable his mother was with his new form. In fact, did she even truly believe it was him? He had told her he was still him, and she had seemed relieved that her son still lived... but sometimes, she would look over at him and brief shock would flash in her eyes as she took in his appearance.
He knew she had deep seated connections with the spirits... so surely, his mother could tell. For the past few days, he had been keeping his distance from some of his pride mates, feeling out of place as he was both ❄️Safi❄️ and now, ❄️Abeni❄️, and he did not want to make them uncomfortable. But Cherry Sunrise was his mother (and he was still getting used to the fact that his mother had been made immortal by the spirits, though of course, he was not complaining), and he still loved her deeply, regardless of his form change.
Cherry smiled slightly at his hesitancy. "❄️Abeni❄️..." she chuckled. "Or should I say ❄️Safi❄️?"
He felt a rush of relief at her words, and said, "So, you believe me?"
Cherry nodded. "Of course I do," she purred softly. "And I am just so relieved that you are still alive, my son." She smiled slightly. "I can't say I am used to you in this look yet, but I'm sure it will grow on me."
❄️Abeni❄️ sprang forward abruptly, and nuzzled his way underneath his mother's chin, as he had always done as cub. Purring, Cherry Sunrise rubbed her jaw along the crown of his head, and wrapped her side around his. ❄️Abeni❄️unsuccessfully tried to choke back tears, knowing that whatever else may change, his mother's love would not.

Asher arrives during the afternoon asking the lionesses for Safi, they exchange glances at each other, they did not know how to tell her the news.
Suddenly, Cherry Sunrise, a beautiful lioness with the power of immortality, steps forward to Asher.
"He... He was struck down by a demon during the war" she said, feeling the pain in her words. Asher, in disbelief cried angrily "NO! This is a prank right, this is not funny Cherry, WHERE IS HE !?".
She looked at the expression of the lionesses, all of them with sad and melancholic expressions, and she understood, tears fall to her paws, evaporating instantly.
"Our new king is ❄️Abeni❄️, he's with the shamans right now, probably he'll return during night"
The red eyed lioness, with a very sad expression, decided to return to her pride, she did not have other reason to stay there anymore, the most important thing on her life was gone, there was nothing she can do.
During her travel back to her pride, she saw a purple and blue lion with pink eyes, probably a king of another pride nearby, they exchanged glances, suddenly feeling a strange feeling, like she knew this lion since a lot of time, but how?
She decided to run away from the lion, maybe she was seeing his love on the other lions, or she was imagining things, but something was telling her to return to that lion.
Maybe, perhaps, she will return later of her taking a visit to the shamans, to know what has going on.
Was he really dead?

❄️Abeni❄️ yawned as he padded through the grasslands, and decided to head for the waterhole for a drink. The Shamans had so many tasks they needed done, but for now, perhaps he could rest his paws and get some water.
Suddenly, he spotted a lioness passing by, and turned to look, assuming it was an unclaimed lioness, or perhaps one from another pride passing through. He froze as he recognized Asher, and felt his heart pound in his still unfamiliar chest as she caught sight of him and met his gaze. ❄️Abeni❄️ hesitated, and Asher turned and ran off, continuing on her way. ❄️Abeni❄️took a few steps after her automatically, then stopped in place. How was he going to explain this to Asher?
And... had those been tear-stains on her furred cheeks?
❄️Abeni❄️ milled about in place for a moment, unsure what to do. One thing he knew - he had to talk to Asher, and soon.

During the night sky, a dark grey lioness walks through the savannah, with a determined expression, during her visit to the shamans, they told her that Safi's soul was not among the spirits, and suggested to visit Safi's pride during the night, and the power of the ancestors will show her the answer.
She saw Abeni at the distance, she was a little mean to him at first, but Xemnas told her that he was not an evil king, she trusts her king, so she was not gonna be harsh with him this time.
But it has difficult to go near him, what if he was not who she think he is? She stopped and breathe a bit, she was getting to anxious of the situation, but she needed to do this.
"Um, Hi Abeni, I was wondering if we could talk about something" she stops, she lows her head in shame and nervousness, until she saw it, that bracelet that Safi and she shared, surprised by that, she looks at Abeni with surprise.
"Safi? Is that you?" She said, smiling while tears started falling through her muzzle, and saw his eyes being lighted by the night sky, and saw Safi in his eyes, like his spirit has right inside his vivid pink eyes, "I missed you so much" she couldn't contain her feelings anymore, the most important thing in her live is still here, her love, her soulmate.

(Response to Asher's visit)
Abeni choked back a sob of relief and happiness, and nuzzled his cheek against Asher's. "Of course it's me!" he exclaimed. "I'm Safi... well, Abeni, now, but this name? It means that my prayers were answered. I didn't want to pass on - I wasn't ready to leave you, or my pride behind. Not yet." He purred softly and sat next to Asher. He reached over to groom her ears. "I have no intention of letting a little thing like getting killed take me away from you, Asher."
He pulled back and blinked at Asher. "I'm so sorry for how you heard about my... erm... accident? I wanted to come tell you it was still me, but I wasn't sure how to go about it. I mean, I don't exactly look the same, huh?" He chuckles weakly. "I'm not even a Primal anymore! Do you KNOW how many times I have tripped over my own paws because of this new form?" Abeni paused briefly and cocked his head in thought. "I... wonder if the shamans could maybe help with that."
Abeni spent the rest of the night sitting and talking with Asher, reconnecting with the lioness he loved.

The following day, Abeni went to speak with the Shamans. He knew they had the power, in connection with the spirits, to apply markings from the ancestors onto the pelts of living lions... perhaps they could help with his wish to once more be a Primal. He felt right in that form, and perhaps his pride mates, and Asher too, would find it easier if he was, at least, in his old Primal form.

The shamans convened with the spirits, and Abeni found himself standing in the center of the cave in which the shamans were staying the month. The air crackled with power, and in a flash of light, Abeni felt as if he had been struck with a charging elephant. Gasping, he shivered as his bones reshaped and grew, as his tail shrunk and his chest broadened. Abeni stood, panting, in the center of the cave, and stared down at his paws... large, Primal paws. Taking a few exploratory steps, Safi, now Abeni, grinned. He was back in his natural form. He couldn't wait for everyone else to see.

I then IBFed the litter, and got Abeni as cub number 3 of 3. Grimsby and Wolvesofthenight#101070, or Dawnstar, gifted me 13GB total so that I could king him on the spot, while BeautifulDisaster07 #96801 suggested his name. All my friends are the best, and made me so happy!)
Crowned on 10/26/2023, the same day as his birth, with 150 stats. Retired on 11/25/2023 with 430 stats. He was then heritage repped with a Groupie male into his current form, with 930 stats at the time of crowning. Wolvesofthenight#101070, or Dawnstar, gave me the 10GB needed for the retirement, and also a Primal MoD to return him to his Primal form he had as ❄️Safi❄️.

Across the hills at the wet season, yo see two lions approaching to the pride, recognising immediately Asher in the distance, accompanied with a male primal felis with two cubs on his back.
"Hello Safi, It's good to see you again" Asher purrs, greeting Abeni happily "I brought our cubs with me" she says, while the primal lets the two little cubs down, running immediately to Abeni to say hi to the big lion.
"Oh and this is Luke, our next to be king" Asher says, showing the fire opal eyed male.
"Hey Asher! That's not my official name" the male laughed, smiling at Asher, to later look at Abeni and bow at him "Greetings king Abeni, I'm the one Xemnas choose to be king, I want to have good bonds with your pride, once I become king, I want a good and peaceful land, It is a big honor to meet you. Oh! Sorry I do not have a proper king name, I'm used to being called my father's name Gaara, but since Asher suggested, I like to be called Luke"
Asher and Abeni stayed with their cubs during the windy afternoon, while Luke spoke to your lionesses and explored your territory for a bit, returning a bit injured with a little bit of scratches "Don't worry Abeni, I saw a cannibal lion on your territory, I didn't wanted to kill him but he was to persistent on entering further to your territory, he thought I was one of your submales" he said, giving you a lion skull.
Asher stands up, giving you a little gift of goodbye, signalling her cubs to follow her, "It was very nice to visit you, I would visit more often, but things on the pride had been very busy"
While they are getting ready to return to the pride, suddenly Luke's ears stand up and runs to you, "I almost forgot! In a week I'll be officially king, I'd love to invite you king Abeni to the ceremony, so you can visit Asher too, and you could meet the queen of the east side of the pride, her name is Larxene, she can be mean at times but she is actually nice" he says happily, running to Asher, taking the little cubs and putting them on his back.
Asher stops for a moment, signalling a farewell after continue, disappearing on the horizon.

Abeni arrives to Xemnas's territory, finding a big crown of flowers at the entrance of the prides's dens, lioneses talking to each other with flower decorations on them, he aproches to the entrance, finding Lyra, a Goridhe lionness with amber decorations on her "Welcome Abeni, we were expecting your arrive" She said calmed, looking to the crowd and saying "We welcome King Abeni and his pride, to this visit to the ceremony!" she said, Abeni reciving a big cheer for his welcome, until she saw two gray ears perk up on the crowd, and aproching to them, followed by a Cloudburst lioness to the primal king.
"Welcome Safi! I'm glad you could arrive on time" Asher said with a purr "This is Genis, she is Luke's sister" She said, showing the lioness behind her "It's an honor to meet you King Abeni" the blue lioness says with a bow" they talked and shared some food, enjoying the lively place, meeting other lionesses of the pride too, until they hear Lyra's voice far but loudly saying " Welcome to queen Larxene, leader of the east pride!" observing at the distance a nadir stoic lionness with her lionesses entering the place.
Larxene aproches to the group once she noticed the prescence of the primal "I see I was not the only leader invited, that's kinda unusual since this type of celebrations are a bit personal, the name is Larxene, I hope our prides get along" she said, extending her paw to shake it with the primal, showing an unexpresive face, but smiling lightly.
Suddenly, an old grey lionness apeares on a high rock followed by Xemnas, who was with a blue rose on his mane, "We highly appreciate everyone that arrive to his ceremony, lionnesses, cubs, kings and queens" said the lionesses looking at the crowd, Xemnas takes a step forward and says "As everyone knows, I reached the time for me to finally retire, but I did not wanted to leave without knowing that the pride would be in good paws, until my heir was born, I made him my apprentice, and showed him everything I know, training hard to become an excelent king for the pride"
He stops to catch his breath, "" So, I would like to finally present you the new king of the pride, let's welcome with a good cheer to "The light of the sacred flame", King Luke!""
Lions cheer and welcomes Luke to the high rock where Xemnas was, the old gray lionnes Riley gives him in front of the crowd a crown of orange flowers in his head, Luke looks to the crowd with a smile, while Xemnas looks at him with a proud expresion.
"Thanks you so much for this, I'll lead the pride to a peaceful future, I promise to all the kings and lions of our dinasty and all of them present in this ceremony!" Luke says with joy, roaring to the sky, followed by Xemnas an all of the lions present, while the sun sets behind the new king.

Abeni is delighted by the decorations set up for the ceremony, finding it well designed and beautiful.
As Lyra announced him to the pride, Abeni dipped his head with a smile. "Thank you," he said. "I am thrilled to be here."
As he saw Asher approach, Abeni's own ears perked up, and a purr rumbled in his throat. "Asher!", he exclaimed. "You are as lovely as ever." He greeted Genis warmly, and interacted with the other lionesses of Xemnas' pride, glad to meet more members of his favorite neighbor pride.
As Larxene appeared, Abeni returned her paw shake, and then bowed his head. "Indeed, I am honored to have been invited to this event, and it is a pleasure to meet you, Queen Larxene. Luke told me you would be here."
Abeni listened attentively to Xemnas' speech, and hoped that his old friend could rest well in retirement. He was certain that Luke would be a great and noble king, and Abeni was certain Xemnas had chosen his heir well.
As King Luke was crowned, Abeni added his voice to the cheers. He smiled warmly as Luke claimed his place as king, and gave his most powerful roar, along with the others, as Luke's roar echoed across the land.
As the ceremony wound down, Abeni tugged a small sack off of his shoulders, and left some gifts with the new king, and with the visiting queen, wishing them the best in their futures. "If ever either of your prides need support, my pride will stand with you," Abeni said, lowering on his forelegs in a deeper bow. "You and your prides, and... as always, Asher... have my affection and loyalty." Abeni stood, and following the ceremony, as twilight took over the land, he spent some time with Asher and their cubs, and then returned home.
