Interaction 🐌
(I mostly write those personally, but i might use these defaults aswell :) )
A massive, soft-furred primal king moves along your territory’s edge, respecting your borders. You step closer, noticing two African Wild Dog cubs trotting obediently at his heels, their paws silent. You blink. What the…?
A heavy thud startles you - warm fur brushes your shoulder. You glance up to see a massive primal king smiling. “Strong lionesses. You lead them well,” he rumbles, bumping you like an old friend. ...Did he just nuzzle you?
A towering primal steps from the grass, setting a carcass at your paws with surprising gentleness. “You looked like you could use a meal,” he rumbles softly. “The jungle’s kinder when we share.”

Let's stay silent
characters: The One Who Understands, Snailstep
The jungle had grown hushed under the cover of night, lit only by scattered starlight and the low hum of unseen insects. The great tree at the center of the pride’s hollow swayed gently in the warm breeze, its roots sheltering mothers and cubs in peaceful slumber.
Further up the slope, away from the dreaming pride, Snailstep lay stretched on a flat stone, his massive primal form silhouetted against the silver-washed leaves. His mane rippled with each breath, dark and tangled from the day’s patrol. He was still, but not asleep - his dark eyes gazed upward, lost in the sky.
There was a hush of grass behind him, but he didn’t lift his head - he knew already.
"Towu," he purred without turning. "You're early tonight."
From the dark, Towu emerged: light-footed, eerie, his coat shimmering faintly with specks like fallen stars. He didn’t stop by Snailstep’s side, not right away. Instead, he circled slowly until Snailstep rolled over with a groan, belly up, powerful paws tucked in slightly like a sleeping cub. What a view of a king so exposed.
"I trust you more than the wind," he said softly, blinking up at Towu. :You never blow the wrong way."
Towu settled beside him, head tilted. Then, with deliberate care, he leaned down and began grooming the thick, tangled mane beneath Snailstep’s chin. The big lion closed his eyes, a rumbling sigh escaping him.
"I wonder.." Towu’s voice was calm, but rich, as if the sky itself was speaking. "How one lion can carry so much weight and still walk."
Snailstep let out a soft laugh, the kind no one ever heard during the day. "Because I know someone is always behind me."
Towu paused, and then, unexpectedly, spoke again.
"I remember a time before you. I remember wandering aimlessly with no voice of my own and no breath warm enough to share. I had nearly forgotten what it meant to feel. Until I met you.
Snailstep blinked. His chest rose and fell slower now.
Towu continued, almost reluctantly. "You gave me your trust when others feared me. You never asked me to speak, and so I found the want to."
Snailstep reached up, gently pressing his large paw against Towu’s chest with claws sheathed. "I’d rather you walk beside me in silence than any other lion shouting by my side."
Towu then leaned down, pressing his forehead to Snailstep’s and letting himself to lay his torso on the bigger lion's chest. "Then I shal walk beside you until this earth swallows me."
They remained like that while a pale breeze rolled over the stone, ruffling their manes as if nature itself was whispering, and far below, in the sleeping hollow, the pride stirred, but its heart remained undisturbed.
