After being chased out his pride by his father due to a scarceness of prey, Mbali wandered around the Outlands for days. He ocassionally stumbled upon adult patrolling males who would emmediately fight him away from their territory, but other than that, he had no interaction with lions for what felt like months. Hungry, lonely and homeless, Mbali was feeling desperate. he had started to consider the idea of just giving up: lying under the shade of a lonely tree and waiting misserably to die. "Just one last time," the young male whispered to hismelf as he brought his thin starving body to his feet to resume his search for something he still wasn't sure of what it was; unclaimed land, lion company, prey... anything. A thin haze had started to settle in the dry savannah when Mbali spotted a slender silhouette in the distance.
