Dreamboat of Ladies

On June 26, 2012, two male cubs were born to the fearsome onyx king Calibur and his favored queen Ceridwen. The firstborn, an inky cub dotted with speckles and spatters of snowy white, was to bear Calibur's name and walk in his footsteps — heir to the pride and territory as was his birthright. His fox-red younger brother, on the other hand, would have to go forth and make a name for himself through virtue of his deeds. All of this changed, however, when it became clear that Calibur's firstborn son was his sire's carbon copy in appearance alone. Gentle, quiet, and chivalrous, the little inkblot was the perfect antithesis of his aggressive and heavy-handed sire.

By the time the cubs reached adolescence, Calibur cast aside his firstborn son, giving his grand legacy and the promise of his territory to the fox-red second-in-command — the "pauper-prince" as Calibur II was fondly nicknamed for the mischievous antics he indulged in despite his lofty station. The shadowy slate older brother was chased from the territory while his ears still seemed too big for his head, his paws too heavy for his legs. Gangly and inexperienced, he stumbled upon an impossibly snowy sanctuary several leagues away from his birthplace.

Calibur II, dissatisfied with their father's callous nature, departed soon afterward. He followed his brother's trail to the new, chilly land — and despite his shiver of distaste at the weather, he decided to take up residence only a few miles away in an elephant graveyard of sorts.
