Hey I'm Lou!

i'm just someone who spends her days enjoying colorful things and aesthetics -- like a bird! to be completely honest, i'm really just a big nerd too. i deep dive into fandoms sometimes and never look back, but Natasha Romanoff and Wanda Maximoff from Marvel are apart of my favorites! reading takes up a lot of my free time, if the two fully stacked bookshelves have anything to say, and i hoard blankets on my bed to read under.

// i am two hours ahead of Lioden Time!
// female, she/her pronouns, lesbian
// INFJ-T / Taurus
// i love mornings and late nights!
// i have two dogs and a sugar glider!
//i am a huge mythology nerd! i like worldwide mythology, but my expertise is in greek / roman mythology
// i really love sweet and salty foods
// youtube is basically where i spend most of my time, next to here
// i'm really friendly! if you want to know more or chat, don't hesitate to shoot me a message

𝓚𝓷𝓸𝔀𝓷 𝓟𝓻𝓲𝓭𝓮 𝓛𝓮𝓰𝓮𝓷𝓭𝓼:

☾ Long before the ancestors of this pride settled in this area of Africa, legend speaks of lions in the arenas of Ancient Rome. Lions captured, bred, and tortured were stuffed in small cages, poked to anger, and released in a circular arena filled with shouting humans to fight a gladiator. Humans were, most unfortunately, winners of these brutal battles and given the pelt of the great lions as a reward. One day, a lion named after the Roman equivalent of Ares, Mars, decided that they were not mewling cubs. He convinced the other lions, all who had but given up, to fight for their freedom. It is still told that the god Mars himself respected this courage and even helped the lions with their escape. It is not known how they returned to the plains of Africa, except that the whispers of their ancestors sent gentle, but quick, breezes that carried them home.

☾ Lions born within Ares' Watch are thought to be brought forth by one of the Gods. It does not matter whether its' mother or father come from elsewhere, or their lineage holds roots in the pride. This legend brings belief that most lions are "sponsored" by one of the Gods, who watch them grow and progress in their life. This is belief can either grow or wane as the lions life goes on, but either way, who is to stay that, perhaps, it isn't true?

☾ Zeus is rumored to have sent his bolt of lighting down and cut half the ocliffside of Delos and send the other half into the raging river below in order for the caverns to be formed for Ares' Watch ancient members to make their home out of. Storms have an uncanny tendency to form right above Delos and go on for a few days at a time. These storms must be Zeus reminding the pride daily that though Ares may be the god they worship most, he reigns even above the God of War.

Natasha Romanoff was a surprise. More so than Frank. She came in the night, stealthy and silent, and slit the king's throat in his sleep. Her reasons are not known, other than that she wanted the throne, the lands, and the territory. The lionesses were used to usurps at this rate, for it seemed destined to happen within their Pride. Their Gods revelled in bloodspill, and a good King or Queen should not be afraid to get their paws dirty.

Except . . . that Frank's death was the only one to come. She took the throne, introduced herself to her new subjects, and settled into the role almost as smooth as butter. But she was also kind, and she allowed the lionesses to mourn as they needed and to settle in this new change as well. Her rein would prove to be fruitful: she was a willing ruler -- who sought to learn the ways of the Pride instead of altering them, asking how things are run rather than assuming, and most of all: she was not as rough or cold as their previous King.

Currently, Natasha enjoys Thicket Falls and the rivers, and the thick grasslands. That remains her favorite part of her new home, and she can often be found exploring the endless trails previous rulers have left behind. She learns she may have been an assassin or a Tracker if she had joined the Pride differently, and her quiet demeanor seems to ease the others into trusting her.

Natasha has a lot to learn still, she is a young Queen with lack of understanding of the bigger world. But the older lionesses within the Pride are teaching her how, eager willingness to train and grow stronger, as well as the snarky attitude of Natasha goes hand in hand with her fierce protectiveness over them. She has yet to prove herself in a true fight, but when the time comes where a challenge is brought to her lands, she will show them that she will keep them safe and flourishing.

Frank Sinatra's sudden entry into the pride, followed by his killing of Shirley Temple, left the pride reeling. In many ways, the peace their two previous leaders had brought meant prosperity for those years it provided. When Frank took over as king, his claws were both literally and figuratively doused in blood. Yet, for whatever reason, death very rarely met the inner pride members. He would lure lone lionesses within the pride only to kill them hours later. It is a puzzling sight to see, but perhaps he is making a statement?

The large male's new rule did not change much of the pride itself. Lionesses remained in their assigned ranks, and he learned the ranking system, history, and legends of the pride before deciding to take up this belief as well. His charming personality drew in his new lionesses with hesitant ease, allowing them to come to him at their own pace. If they challenged him, he did not kill them. He kept peace within the inner workings of the pride, but soon . . . mayhem began outside. He slowly began expanding Scout's patrols and a Tracker's tasks. He started pushing smaller prides off their own territory to gain it into his own, and he did not have to kill right away to do it. His smooth tongue and gleaming eyes were enough to convince naive kings to abandon their homes.

With Frank Sinatra's new rule brought its own positives, including more space for lionesses to live and cubs to be born. The lionesses began to accept him as their king and even grew to appreciate his rule to live under, seeing as they were not starving and death was not abundant to the inner pride. His charismatic, sneaky attitude was enough to let this handsome king truly dig his claws into Ares' Watch and never let go.

After Marilyn Monroe's untimely retirement and her death some months later, Shirley Temple was now left to lead Ares' Watch. Her mentoring was only barely completed, and she still felt she had much to learn from Marilyn. After the council and the Queens assured Shirley that her nerves were completely normal for a newtime leader, and though she should not let them rule over her mind, it was very okay to feel them as long as she voiced them so they could perhaps help tame these fears.

As Shirley's reign continued on, the lionesses slowly grew to enjoy her. The Gods showed their approval over the many moons beginning her leadership by gifting the pride with beautiful cubs, plentiful prey, and ever-growing rivers their forest housed. Shirley, however, does not take after her mentor when it comes to being sneaky. Often times, she can be seen stumbling through the thick forests over clumsy paws and scaring birds right from the tree-tops when she trips over her flower-ornaments. Luckily for her, her pride finds it to be one of the most endearing parts of her!

Shirley spends much of her time in the deserts or grass-lands, watching hunting parties ( while doing her best not to accidentally scare their target ), and interacting with them. Her goal is to understand and gain an idea of what their role is for so that she may help in offering advice to cubs in the future when they cannot decide their role in the pride.

Though she has not seen a true battle yet, Shirley has practiced many times what she would do should the pride come under attack. When it comes to the pride that so readily accepted her and grew to respect her, she will not drop to her belly and cower to the fools who dare enter her home.

The rein of Marilyn has brought changes to the territory Elvis once ruled. Though grateful for the work Elvis had done within these lands, the lionesses were ready for some peace. Elvis conquered kingdoms, killing many in order to increase the territory of his own. The pride to this day holds the name Elvis had given it: Ares' Watch. Named for the Greek god of war and violence, this pride of lions had quickly gained a reputation of violence, blood, and destruction. Despite the seemingly mindless murder, however, lies the mind of Elvis. He had never attacked and destroyed without good reasoning, for what good would it do for him if he had no true reasoning for his actions? No, Elvis took for his pride that grew and grew. His pride came first, those below them last.

Ares' Watch was slowly growing to be the strongest, most powerful pride in the area. Known for their intelligence plans of battle, they are feared when they meet their enemies in bloodshed, and honored when they give what little mercy they have. Once Elvis grew old, he knew an heir was needed, and thus he took Marilyn Monroe from a field of defeated lionesses, a mewling cub who lost her mother. Elvis trained and raised Marilyn to know the pride's ways and how to rule in a way that would keep their power from being overthrown. She learned quickly, but though Elvis could alter the mind and teach it in his ways, he could not advance the way her heart spoke.

With Marilyn's new rule came a new era. She changed the pride to where stories and legends of their ancestors are honored and spoken, where cubs can have a higher chance of surviving so they may become their own lion, and that peace may once again settle. Moving the pride to the forest made them undetectable, mysterious, and still feared. For now, they do not ambush other kingdoms . . . but tread lightly and watch your borders, for you may find a pair of bismuth eyes glowing in the shrubs when you least expect it.

This den has lions that are aging up tomorrow - there is currently not enough territory to cope with them all!
