In the cooling shadows of an acacia grove, the young King Okumoro holds court. He grew up watching his father bully and bellow and beat his queens, and swore that he would never be such a ruler; when Okumoro's lionesses speak, he closes his mouth listens, and when they fail him, he forgives.

There are those who would say he gives away too much power, that democracy is no way for a king to rule his pride. But at the end of the day, Okumoro's lionesses would die for him, and cherish every cub of his that they bear.
