Mist's Echo's Den

Your paws are tired, but you don't let it show. You are a strong king, and strong kings don't show weakness. You left your boarders hours ago, you smelled something in the distance that caught your curiosity. Because of this, you decided it would be a good idea to go find what they smell was, and you now deeply regretted it.
You did not know if it was the setting sun or the smell that filled you with unease. You wanted to say it was another lion, but you never smelled anything quite like it. You knew your pride must be worried sick, but you where already this far, and you, being the strong male lion you are, would not turn back.
You approached a cliff and peered down, seeing a small pride below you. Many lionesses, sub males, and cubs sat around peacefully in the center. But you could not find there king. where could he-
"Looking for me?" A deep voice asked behind you.
You let out a roar and jumped high in the air. Maybe not the most kingly of actions, but you quickly recovered, fluffing out your mane and puffing up your chest, trying to summon what was left of your dignity.
The other lion let out a chuckle and offered you a warm smile. You now knew the scent was coming from him. It was odd to say the least, but not unpleasant.
"I can only assume you have been walking for sometime, would you like to stay and rest? My hunters have just brought back fresh food."
Your stomach grumbled, and before you could say otherwise, you were whisked down and welcomed with open paws.

In real life, I own a 17 year old Rocky Mountain Horse who I barrel race and a 4 year old ball Python. I have also written a book set to release at the end of this year.
