All my kings on this account are named VREES, so check carefully who is bred to who. I only breed clean lions but sometimes the double name MIGHT confuse people with the lineages. Vrees's lore is that he is immortal but is more or less reborn from his own form like ashes.

About The Pride
Vrees, the malicious and heartless king. Very name descending from the Afrikaans's word for fear he wears the title well. The embodiment of supposed corruption in both his unusual stature and eyes. With unknown origins it is hard to determine who and exactly what he may be. Though rumors from neighboring prides link such behavior and appearances to the Pride's proclivity of cannibalism.
Not much is known about the current King, where he came from and in some sense what he exactly is. Only that he had managed to slay and devour the previous king and ruler of this territory as a means on inheriting his stature and strength. Much of the first pride was thinned out, either by being chased off or simply stricken down if they turned against their 'own'. Those who did not agree or bow before his rules were given the choice to leave or to provide a 'self sacrifice' to the growing pride. Many left as they cared little for those who held evident mutations and the fact their new King seemed to not only happily accept them but also bred such offspring himself, well it was too much for them to cope with as they felt them all to be omens.
Vrees seems to favor and take in those who were chased or shunned from their own prides with evident mutations and non. He isn't always cruel and is rather a kind and loving provider and protector to those who are his. He's rather understanding to strangers and seems to hold a heart for those alone and misunderstood, granted he never seems to look the part with a large stature and a daunting gaze. Though such kind and understanding nature rots away when he brings a new lion into the pride and they panic about the general family and culture within and turn against them. Not one to simply let someone bad mouth and spread disdain over those he cares for he cleans up the mess he brought into the pride and will always try again.
It has been many generations since Vrees arrived and he runs his pride like a well oiled machine. Clean, structured and very fit to his simple demands of what works. To outsiders the pride would seem like any other. Though the large collection of bones and skulls both lion and non would tell otherwise. As would the unusual appearance of many of the inhabitants, most mutated in some way or shape just like their beloved King and protector. Though those who are smart simply smile and turn tail, do onto those as what you'd wish done onto yourself.
And while this pride is weary and even hostile to outsiders from the general judgement they are given upon looks and culture, there are quite a few 'alliances' formed; they are after all a very kind and loving collection of souls to those who act such in return. Most alliances are simply formed in the terms of "Don't attack or invade our lands and we will happily help any way we can!". Vrees in most events tends to reluctantly agree with the shared ruling of 'Buitenste Ruim'. Though he will not hesitate to break a treaty crafted by 'Buitenste Ruim' in order to keep his pride of misfits and mutants safe from others, both in the realm of physically protected and verbally as well. Talk shit get hit, he has no qualms with absorbing both the pride and territory of another, even if he must cull a great deal of them. Protein does a body good after all, especially for growing cubs!
Let it be noted that there has been a pride that seems to be genuinely apart of Vrees's family almost from the beginning. They are a fair and kind pride ran by a saber-fanged King 'Buitenste Ruim'. A great lion said to have fallen from the very heavens itself. In complete contrast to the one who is rumored to have fought and clawed up from the very pits of hell. These two are constantly together almost in the terms of 'partners' in crime. Its rumored they share a split soul, and if you are lucky enough to interact with the both of them its rather clear why. They don't talk in words so much as glances, thoughts nearly identical but their actions rivaling one another's in terms of balance.
Sharing territory, family and meals their prides are one, 'Buitenste Ruim' the king diplomat while Vrees remains the heartless protector in times of need and sometimes when its not particularly wanted...
