they say there is a jungle oasis, far out in the savannah, which only appears every full moon, and is gone by sunrise the next day. they say if you set foot into it, you disappear to the outside world forever. they say if you venture deep enough into the cool shadows and towering trees, you'll find the strangest and most mystical strain of felidae. the pride known as "the phantasm" has lived within this fabled jungle for years, only found by the rarest of travellers. lions who nearly didnt survive a great turmoil back during a time when history was unwritten, and became favored by the god that found them clinging to the last vestiges of their lifeforce. given a secret home, and the smallest sliver of this being's celestial powers, these lions became the phantasm, a clowder of creatures with powers to shape their lives.
the phantasm are organized into three subdivisions, based on where their abilities are strongest. there are the blazebearers- lions with powers relating to the sun, or fire, or lightning, or other things that burn hot and bring light. there are the coldcrafters, spinning from their paws the gifts of ice, wind, rain, water, and the similarly frigid, calm things. finally, the darkdancers, weaving their world from shadows, or the night, or even the moon and stars. these three groups coexist, working together with their respective abilities to give back to the world which saved their earliest ancestors long ago, and celebrating the life they've been given.
