the land abandoned by the divine

All records from the time of the gods were destroyed by a king only known as rat bastard, this king’s reign was long and harsh- any lion with memory of the god’s king passed before he did- and he made sure of it. Over hunting destroyed the lands, lioness could hardly compete with the other predators. Most food went to the king, aside from his preferred lioness- Dove. This lioness outlived him, having lead a young Smilus named Saberspark into the territory and tempted him into slaughtering the once so proud king in his old age.

Saberspark’s rule was far kinder- even if he had a tougher personality. The pride’s lands rejuvenating under his reign. Many of his cubs left on their own journeys, leaving the king seeking a higher calling- leading him to take in an abandoned Ferus cub from the edge of the territory. He raised this cub, Vultureshriek, as almost his own, training the orphan to take his place when he grew old. Unlike the terrible rat bastard, saberspark had to opportunity to retire and spend his old days telling stories to the generations after him.

Vultureshriek carried on his legacy- the pride coming under the name of Fallen Feathers, to honor the former king’s one wish of treating all lions fairly. This began the pride’s true expansion, Vulture sired over 40 cubs in his time. Vultureshriek was quite the charmer- harboring a romance with the ever friendly Manticore of the area. This is what spurred the ‘birth’ of Buzzardscreech and Quetzalcall. Whether they had been a blessing of the gods themselves, or some miracle- these cubs were no ordinary lions. Having seemingly appeared one night between him and the manticore. Vultureshriek was incredibly protective of his miracles. This has given Quetzal and Buzzard incredible egos. Vultureshriek was found poached, having died the way he lived- protecting his pride.


Quetzalcall has taken his father’s place, what remains to be seen is how he will rule.
