As you delve deeper into the overgrown woodland, the trail you had been pursuing began to blur in your weary eyes, with grave realization you recognize that you have lost your sense of direction. Each turn appeared identical, and you were untrained to differentiate between the trees you had passed countless times. Frustration wells up inside you, and you let out a scoff as you unplant your paws to retrace your steps.
Unexpectedly, you hear a soft snicker above you, and a pair of faint brown eyes glimpse over a branch. You skim your eyes up to see a lion with a messy curly mane. He dips from his perch with grace and agility, landing just a few feet away from you. Taken aback by his sudden arrival you take a timid step back, but his friendly demeanor puts you at ease.
"You seem a bit lost," he teases, examining your features with his head held high. "Come, let me guide you." His voice is gentle and soothing, and you feel a sense of relief bathe you. Without allowing time for a reply, he turned and began conducting you down a new trail. The light filtered through the trees, casting a warm glow on the forest floor as the pair walked side by side, and the sound of birds chirping refilled the air.
"Oh, where are my manners?" the lion says, splitting the quiet. "My name is Icarus. Where is it you wish to go, traveler?"
