A shot rang out and Grassstar fell, her ninth life being stolen from her as a poacher killed her for her green pelt colored by a purple dawn.
There was nothing left of her, to sit vigil for, and her pride mourned. What were they to DO? There was no deputy ready to stand in her place.
The council met, Skyheart and Ribsong, the patrol leader and the medicine lioness deciding what to do. Which cub was the most capable?
It was an easy decision. Zebrapaw was the second eldest by only a moon, easily stronger than Cloudpaw.
