Blanco wandered the territory, day and night. It'd been a week since his pride leader had exiled him for no good reason and he was seriously struggling to survive out in the wilderness. The weather was unforgiving, and prey was hard to come by, he wasn't used to hunting for his own food or searching for shelter at night. Every so often, he'd turn around, praying someone from his pride would come find him. He hoped they'd take him back in, shelter him, groom him, Blanco missed all of that. He'd been wandering for quite a while; it'd been about 3 days since he tried to hunt and eat something, he was practically starving, and his body was starting to feel the side effects. He just couldn't go on any longer, he quickly found somewhere out of the blazing heat to rest and flopped down. Blanco laid there, drifting off to sleep. Wherever he woke, he hoped it was a place that was accepting of him, whether that be amongst the stars or amongst a new pride, he just wished he was surrounded in love for his possible last nap and not cowering under the shade, struggling all alone at such a young age.

It'd been a few hours since Blanco fell asleep, he yawned and looked around, then down at his paws. He didn't seem to be made of stardust or sleeping amongst clouds surrounded by his past pride's deceased members... He came to the conclusion he was still alive shockingly. Suddenly, a half-eaten warthog carcass seemed to appear out of thin air, now he was confused but he wasn't complaining. He sent a silent prayer to the celestial lions above and quickly dug into it; he wasn't the type to pass up free food. As he was eating, a ring-tailed lemur appeared in front of him. Blanco's mother had taught him that most animals who weren't carnivores were prey and that they're usually food that should be hunted and eaten. He got a glint in his eyes as he got into pouncing position, the lemur realized what he was doing and flailed its arms in an 'X' shape... it realized a little too late and was pinned down by Blanco, who licked his lips hungrily. The lemur quickly spoke up, introducing himself as 'Kuende' and that he heard rumors about a sleeping lion around this part of the territory. Blanco raised his eyebrow at that response; he was on a territory? Whose territory was he on?

Kuende quickly explained that this is a territory threatening to be overtaken by another pride, he spoke frantically, telling Blanco that locusts are doing their yearly migration and that they're destructive during this time of year. As if on cue, the sky blackened, buzzing filled the air; Blanco instinctively dove down and covered his ears, asking what that horrid noise was. Kuende explained that this is what he was talking about.
