Maw of the Marshland Pride, lions within this pride are known as marshlanders or less commonly as Water Backs for their extraordinary swimming and diving skills thanks to their webbed paws. Lead by a fair king called Aranei, with his pride close behind ready to brave the deep waters together. The pride consists mostly of lionesses and their cubs, the exception being Halion who is both Aranei's sub-male and shaman with his younger sister Talia. In the marshlands territory wanders a halfblood deity called Aarav.

`` Your paws carried you deep in your thoughts to wide marshlands surrounded by densely grown trees in the distance. The sound of splashing water brought you back from your thoughts in an instance. 'Crocodiles..?' the first thought came to mind, quickly being disproven as you heard two voices talking back and forth but it was hard to make out what they were saying. Lowered against the muddy ground of the water's bank you crept forward in the reeds. The plants parted enough to give you a view of a brown male lion with white spots and a light golden wavy mane, accompanied by a similar looking lioness. Maybe they are siblings? Your curiosity towards their curly fur got the best of you and caused you to misstep on the slippery ground. Seconds later you were on your side with sticky mud coating your feet and side as you tried to keep your balance but failed. "Who goes there?" an agitated voice asked, you could've sworn you heard a voicecrack in the question. To your surprise, it's the smaller lioness who dashed through the reeds first, closely followed by who you assumed to be her brother. At the sight of a stranger male lion the brother lept by his sister and bellowed a deep growl. Seeing the lions up closer now you noticed they were surprisingly sleek, the male certainly lacking the sturdiness of an average king of a pride, and there was no mistaking the fact that this land is occupied by a sizeable pride. You got back onto your feet, shaking off the mud you managed as the male seemed to grow more restless trying to intimidate you "Do I need to ask again?! You.. You... Hyenameat!". As you got ready to spit back a third voice carried over the wind from close by "Halion? Talia? Is everything okay?". Much heavier sounding steps closed in, revealing first two curving horns and then a male lion who seemed to be the king based on how the tension in the curly furred lions' shoulders eased immediately. "Ah Aranei! We found this one while out gathering scallops." the male called Halion reported in chivalrous fashion. The older king Aranei eyed you for a moment, sighed and asked "Are you here for Aarav?". You raised an eyebrow in confusion, 'Who now?'. ´´
