Dunken's Den

A graveyard once made for hyenas was now the land for a pride after the hyenas were either hunted, drowned, starved, or chased off.

five different caves littered the graveyard

The cave on the far left, decorated with hanging bones and skulls of hyenas, otters, other lions, and primals housed the Adolescents male and female. This cave was where the Adols spar with each other, groom, talk, and sleep only ever leaving when the lionesses went hunting, or when the king decided on a pride meeting.

The far right was the cave decorated with the most care, leaves gently swaying from the wind sometimes catching the attention of the young cubs learning how to walk and talk, in this cave all the cubs between 1 to 8 months sleep here and even play, its also the most protected a sub male on either side of the entrance to keep any trespassers away.

The cave near the Adol den was for the sub males, in this den the males that are used as studs for other lionesses out of the territory stay. this cave is also home to the visitors coming to pay their respects to the king that somehow slain all the hyenas with his bare paws.

The cave next to the Cub den was a cave barely decorated that housed the Lionesses, the ones with mutations, the ones with low fertility, ones that couldn't bare children, and stolen lionesses, these were the lady's that were deemed unworthy and not needed but still loved and treated with respect. This one was also guarded making sure no other kings or sub males try and take their precious queens back.

And finally the center cave, decorated with leaves, bones, and skulls. home to the great king Aios and his many lionesses, and huntresses. Rocks protruded out of the walls giving the beautiful females a place to sleep and rest their tired paws, there was one large rock at the top which was king Aios throne a few inches under belonged to his most special lioness Posca and only an inch under her belonged to their son Dunken the Soon to be new king of the pride.

King Aios was a dark lion. his coat was a really dark brownish red, his heavy mane a shade of brown into orange, eyes glowing a bright yellow.

Queen Posca was more a little darker. her coat a reddish brown the faded grey specks scattered across her body making it look like she rolled in ash's, her eyes a dark orange.

--------------Lesson----

" son it is time" his father called, Dunken looked up the fear in his eyes growing bigger and bigger. he slowly stood with a faint gulp he stood closely next to his father feeling his mothers gaze behind him " father..are you sure" he asked looking up " I- I don't think I can be king just yet. I haven't even trained" he rushed out stopping at the exit of the cave

" Dunken, this isn't your king ceremony. today you are going through your King exam" his father said looking back at him, they heard faint steps then a soft voice " don't worry mi Hijo, you will do great" his mother purred softly licking his ear.

outside were all the lions in the pride, the lionesses, huntresses, sub males, and cubs all waiting patiently for the ceremony to begin. Today Dunken was going to take his kings exam, a bunch of tests that he has to pass in order to be their new Heir and leader he would also have to pick an adolescent female to be his queen

!!ROAR!!
Together they exited the den, he took one last deep breath before roaring as loud as he possibly could. everyone cheered roaring along with him, Dunken had passed his first test.

Strength
Dunken was ready for his tests he learned to put his fears of losing aside and to just take it with ease, he was currently crouched under one of the largest primals they had in the territory. when he heard the snap he stood slowly but surely lifting the large cat onto his back, and again everyone cheered.

=Agility==
In front of him was an obstacle Course full of fallen logs, 'injured' cubs, and large lions. again upon hearing the signal he took off, his paws bounding against the ground with each step. quickly jumping over the large log having to swerve immediately to his right as one of the cubs were in his way. he slid under the paws of other lions even attacking a few. he ran until he made I back to the den

Smarts*
For this task he had to accurately hunt a DikDik the poor thing didn't even see him coming nor did it hear him, it wasn't until his jaws were wrapped tightly around its neck did it panic

<.Skill.>
There's one skill that Dunken has that no one understands, the ability to be completely calm and still order people around under complete pressure. " Sapela get that cub to safety, Chartreux make sure whatever is at the border of our land doesn't get through...take ashen and brimstone with you" he was completely unbothered by the drill

King Aios came out of the den and roared " alright that completes everything, my pride you are free to do as you please" he looked down at his son and smiled " you did great, I found out from the herbalist that Im getting sick. you will become king sooner than expected" his father explained slowly bowing " your mother awaits your return inside"

he walked inside " Dios mío, sabía que podías hacerlo, vas a ser un excelente rey" his mother was on him the minute his large frame stepped through the entrance " mama I haven't even gotten my results" he said with a slight smile on his muzzle " you don't need your resultados, mi Hijo, the throne is already yours" she smiled big " your gonna be the new king"

--------Sick in love----

King Aios was very sick his mane was falling out in thick bunches, he kept getting skinnier every day refusing to eat. his mane and coat had started turning grey. Dunken and his mother was devastated, instead of his father leading him around as a guard he has some sunset coated sub male with a spiky mane.

Dunken was currently outside with the adolescent females trying to pick a female he wants to reign beside him, at first he didn't see anyone but then a gorgeous pale lioness stepped forward.

he stepped down towards her shaking his mane and softly purring. she purred back gently nudging him " what your name" she asked her voice gently and raspy " Dunken, and you" he asked politely " Zira"

-----Father don't leave---

" NO" he shouted as they dragged his fathers body to another part of the grave yard, he didn't even get to say goodbye " father" he whimpered ears drooped mane tangled since he didn't let Zira groom him this morning

his mother approached " va a estar bien mi Chico" he cried in his mothers chest

---------Ceremony---

It's been 2 years since his fathers passing, he's claimed more beauty treating them all with an equal amount of love. His mother and lionesses were currently standing beside him inside the den making sure his fathers headset and leg wraps was perfect and wasn't crooked

" you're going to do great mi hijo" she smiled licking his face, he looked over at Zira " well how do I look girls" he asked ruffling his mane they all giggled hiding their muzzles in there paws

" Hijo its time" his mom called from the other side of the curtain " im coming mamá", it was currently raining outside a blazing fire surrounding the rock he stood on. he looked down at her then up at the sky, closing his eyes for a quick prayer ' here goes nothing' he thinks then suddenly the loudest growl like roar erupted from his throat shocking everyone

" I am your new king" the others heard " and I swear to risk my life for this pride" he added and again he roared and everyone else joined
