Pride/King Lore:

Jagged'Star I (Past)

Jagged'Star was abandoned as a cub for his freakish appearance. His father, though having the same odd mutation, discarded the cub in fear of this mutated bloodline continuing. He was found by a rouge pride of only male lions and sold off to Flint'Star. Flint'Star trained him to be his heir, having been unable to create an heir he deemed suitable on his own. After taking over, Jagged'Star poisoned Flint'Star's dinner carcass with a sleeping solution, killing him as he slept. This was not out of malice, but out of pity. Flint'Star was old and having trouble walking from arthritis in his old age, along with some effects of dementia. He was suffering, despite not wanting to admit it. Jagged'Star quickly took control over his pride, giving them a much shorter leash than Flint'Star had. Jagged'Star created something reminiscent of a cult, having mutated lions be worshiped as Gods, himself included, of course.
He favored those like him, with large fangs and short tails, under those were lions with splotches of white or black fur littering their pelts, then lionesses with faux manes growing, and even lower were those with only large fangs or only a bobbed tail. Under that were those with overgrown features, or missing ones. He didn't quite care for those with non-visible mutations, only seeing lionesses with a second womb as an asset to make more primal variations. Under all mutated lions were those with unique pelts, whether it be an extremely rare, otherwise called "Special" base coat, or beautiful markings.
He had partnered with a celestial lion to make his pride members follow him blindly, and such, any lion or lioness to enter his pride follows his will without hesitation. Yet still takes pity on those less fortunate, often saving cubs or lions from what would've been death. Though seemingly cruel and unforgiving, he despises killing unnecessarily, often avoiding fights, and would never kill a pride member, even if they were to attempt to kill him.
Though his "brainwashing" may seem cruel, he warns all of what will happen as soon as they step into his pride lands, explaining how the spell works, often those who are sick or dying will accept blindly, but in the end, every lion under his rule agreed to be there.

Jagged'Star II (Past)

In his search for immortality, Jagged'Star found an answer. With the help of his celestial "friend," he can transfer himself into the bodies of other lions, eventually changing them to resemble his original body, Though it seems any mutations they may have stick around. Though he may no longer be a deformed beast, he still holds a bias towards more primal-appearing lions, preferring them over most others.

Other side effects have occurred. Just as the body he inhabits is a shell of the lion it belonged to, he is now a shell of his former self. He's cruel. Hes ruthless. Before his karma had been heavenly, now his actions drag his karma into the depths. Only Tartarus itself could even think to harbor him as he is now.

All must come to an end- and for Jagged'Star, it comes soon. A lion has entered his territory in hopes of righting a wrong. Jagged'Star's body has begun to decay as he still walks the land.

Crumbling'Star (Past)
Jagged'Star had finally fallen. A lion named Crumbling'Heart had joined his pride with immunity to his brainwashing- As Crumbling'Care saw how Jagged'Star's body was decomposing as he still roamed, the stench fouler than any he's ever encountered, he knew he had to do something. As the serpent Apophis made a large fissure in the ground, Crumbling'Care had an idea. On a walk to assess the situation with Jagged'Star, he simply... pushed him in. Jagged'Star didn't even have the power to fight back. He wouldn't die as he fell, of course, but he'd be trapped. Upon returning to the pride, he took over. He isn't the kindest lion, but he is searching for a way to undo the brainwashing Jagged'Star had done. He refuses to hurt the members of his pride, but as for outsiders... some of Jagged'Star's influence may have rubbed off on him.

Thinning'Star
Thinning'Line was a promising outsider- Crumbling'Star was more than happy to train him, as he had found himself growing too feeble to keep the peace like he once could. Once Thinning'Line was promoted to king, Crumbling'Star wanted to make sure another Jagged'Star would not appear in the pride. Perhaps without the best of judgement, he found himself in the Harbinger's presence. He questioned and conversated with the beast- eventually he managed to find a small ritual. He was hesitant, but carried through. Thinning'Star found his form changing color- his mind remained in a single piece- but his fur, eyes, and flesh began to match that of Crumbling'Star. The pride quite liked it, as Crumbling'Star had made himself quite a name in ways of beauty, and soon Thinning'Star began to accept and take pride in his new coat. The piebald markings that had whitened his skin and fur before remained as they were- even an eldritch ritual couldn't rewrite the very genes of a lion- and truly, Crumbling'Star didn't want it to.
