When The Levee Breaks's Den

The Other Side is home to many lions, though, one must really go looking to find this particular pride.
After a few miles of wandering away into the Hoven Desert you find yourself standing on a massive slab of rough sandstone just barely peeking above the white sand. It stretches on for thousands of feet in every direction- who could have possibly constructed such a platform, and what for?
In the center of the platform sits a disk, which emanates a loud, low *thunk* when you step on it. A moment passes, two. You realize that it's slowly rotating and then-
Zzzzzzip!
Down you go with the platform, stale air whizzing through your mane as the drop turns your stomach in anxious knots. Odd carvings on the limestone around you rush by, animated into a menagerie of running creatures by the speed of your descent until finally, mercifully, the disk beneath your paws lurches and you are thrown from it onto the ground. Lucky you, you didn't break anything.
You stand on a grassy plain bathed in darkness, the starlight above providing just enough light to see by as you take a few tentative steps into the unknown. The plants here are strangely familiar- how does anything grow so well underground? Perhaps there's someone around that can tell you more.
