After wandering the deserted plains for what seemed like weeks, Lokar found himself at the edge of what was familiar to him. The reeking dust of the wildfire that swallowed his home in blazing nightmare was still clinged to his fur. But a fleeting gaze over his shoulder made him sigh in relief though. Mave, her two cups and a lioness called Leaf were still right behind him, ears flickering with each noise surrouding them. Mave was the only lioness which survived the tragic event and lucky for them they met Leaf on their search, who took it upon herself to care for the newly borns of this awfully looking pride. She didnt only have a particular sharp gaze but also knew the lands they were wandering... At least better than Lokar and the older lion took that as a lucky omen.

Their journed let them through hostile territories and dry patches of land but finally they reached what they were searching for. A new home for their pride. Under their paws spread a wide open field, decorated by lush vegitation and high reaching grass. But most importantly Lokar could spot a rock formation at the edge of what was once a lake, filled with water. But those times were long gone and the edges were providing enough shelter while the plants which took the place back were also thick enough to obscure the pride from any danger.

With Lokar at the front the small pride joyfully inspected the place they would call home and with any moment passing Lokar was certain, this would only be the beginning of his glorious reign as king of the dry lake.
